Scumbag Perry has thrown more money at the Swiftliars
Texan gives more to fight Kerry
Another $100,000 goes to Swift Boat vets

09:47 PM CDT on Tuesday, August 17, 2004

By WAYNE SLATER / The Dallas Morning News

AUSTIN – A major Texas donor to the Republican Party and President Bush has given another $100,000 to an independent group challenging John Kerry's military service in Vietnam.

Houston homebuilder Bob Perry provided much of the early money for Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, which recently launched a television ad and book accusing Mr. Kerry of fabricating his war record. Mr. Perry's latest donation brings to $200,000 the amount he has given the organization.

"It's another sign that this group is organized and financed by Bush allies in Texas," Kerry campaign spokesman Chad Clanton said Tuesday.

1. Hi Sugar. This Texan is not surprised and you really should not be
either. The good part of this is that this is money down the DRAIN and most, if not all, real vets know this. Try to remember that folks are really not all as dumb as bush. I talked to some active officers the other day (I live very close to Fort Hood) and they are saying that bush has ruined the army. People that are working and doing the job know what is real and what is phony. The rest of the USA are really getting suspicious of this junk.

2. There is hope the military will wake up.
Did you see this back in June?

GIs marching away from re-enlistment
War may have some Fort Carson troops leaving the ranks

By Dick Foster, Rocky Mountain News
June 14, 2004

COLORADO SPRINGS - Army re-enlistments have dropped suddenly and dramatically at Fort Carson and several other posts where combat units have recently returned from Iraq.

The surprising decline within the past 21/2 months has jolted recruiters and military analysts and provoked questions about the war's effect on the Army's recruiting ability.

Since Fort Carson units began coming home in April, post recruiters have met only 57 percent of their quota for re-enlisting first-term soldiers for a second hitch, according to an Army report.

More disturbing, recruiters say, is they're re-enlisting only 46 percent of the quota for "mid-career" noncommissioned officers. These are the young sergeants with four to 10 years of experience who are the backbone of the Army - its skilled soldiers, mentors and future senior NCOs.

3. I see these people all the time. They are young, mostly black, with
small children. They want so much to believe and live the American dream. I want so much to help them see the reality of what they are getting in to but it is not my right to do that. I silently bless them all and wish them well. Lordie, I do so hate bush and his group of bloody users.
