35. I don't think they'll have to - He'll pick a vp, then have some sort of
'episode' or some sort of sickness... have to drop out and the vp selection will take over...It'll all be too close to the election to run more primaries.....

The powers that be will have their hand picked candidate and the base will get energized and vote "For Johnny"

12. I'll transcribe a script from the second video for you.
The second video is 11 seconds long and is of McCain saying:

"I was in a conference in Germany over the weekend, and uh, President Putin of Germany gave one of the old Cold War style of speeches, uh, as he addressed the conference there."

There is also a C-Span logo on the video with a caption "Road to the White House, 2008"

20. thanks massacure.
I wonder then if that is senility or a mis-speaking like Obama did when I heard that he increased the number of US states.

I wish he'd said it more than once to be certain. I've heard other things that make me wonder about the state of his mind but am unsure whether this has enough lead to be ammo against him.

17. So you're saying that McCain continually disowning his previous statements and
lying is not stupid?

What McCain said was bizarre by any measure. It's not like he accidentally mentioned Putin's name. He prefaced where he was and mentioned Germany in conjunction with "President Putin."

18. I'm saying his reference to Putin and Germany
was a misspeak. He was in a conference in Germany, spoke of Putin, and accidentally said Germany instead of Russia.

When you lump an obvious misspeak into truly bizarre statements and outright lies, you give people the justification to ignore it all.

That's the point, and this one was truly telling.

Not sure I understand how choosing to ignore what you refer to as "truly bizarre statements and outright lies" qualifies as "crying wolf."

I didn't say we should ignore truly bizarre statements, like not knowing anything about the economy or picking lettuce for $50 hr. I'm saying we diminish the impact of the truly bizarre statements when we blow an honest mistake out of proportion.

McCain: 'I will veto every single beer'

Watch McCain's comments Tuesday.

(CNN) – John McCain issued a promise Tuesday that may cause a bit of unrest with a broad swath of voters:

He'll veto every single beer?

In a slip of the tongue while railing against excessive earmarks at the National Small Business Summit in Washington, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee inadvertently pledged to veto the popular alcoholic beverage.

Watch McCain's slip of the tongue

"I will use the veto as needed. I will veto every single beer — bill with earmarks," he said, as rumblings from the crowd could be heard. "And every single bill that we have come across my desk I will make them famous. I will veto them, you will know their names."
