Should Dems consider contributing to Bob Barr?
Bob Barr is running as the Libertarian candidate for President. Similar to how Repubs contributed to Ralph Nader's 2000 bid, should we be considering contributions to help prop up Bob Barr?

Something about the idea of Obama winning Florida by less than the amount of votes that Bob Barr eaks out amuses me for some reason...

But I like your idea about Florida.

5. Two conflicting quotes spring to mind
On the one hand:

"He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster." - Freidrich Nietzsche

And on the other hand:

"Good will triumph over evil, but only when it learns to fight dirtier." - The Rev. Jesse Custer

6. You Mean Shoot Ourselves In The Foot
Sorry, but it is not the same.
There are no (or at least no significant number of) Republicans who were/might be swayed by Nader to vote for him.
I do see, particularly in the west some voters disenchanted with the process who might be leaning towards Obama because he is different and instead go to the Libertarian candidate.

So Barr is not the one to back as a spoiler.

If you want to back a conservative spoiler, back a fundamentalist radical. McCain is already weak with evangelicals and trying to walk a fine line. To win over disaffected Hillary supporters, he is attempting to play down his horrible positions on womens' rights. If he has a strong challenge on his right flank, he will have to vocalize these views more - driving the women to Obama. It also wouldn't hurt if the evangelicals were reminded of how McCain once referred to Falwell as an "agent of intolerance" and it wouldn't hurt if women and homosexuals were reminded that McCain shared a stage with that same man after

11. No. We never know which way that will swing. Barr could pull
independents and republicans away from Obama, too.

12. No! considering Paul's ability to raise funds, Barr will have no problem doing so.
Instead, contribute to Obama, the DNC, and/or to local races.
