Has anyone seen McCain bumper stickers, signs or anything else ?
Edited on Sun Jun-08-08 10:59 PM by JI7
i have seen NONE . in fact the only Republican signs i had seen for the campaign were Ron Paul ones.

but McCain has been the presumed nominee of the Republican Party for a while now and i still haven't seen anything. i do live in a mostly democratic area so that could be it.

anyone else, especially those living in Republican areas ?

how about those living in purple battle ground areas ?

Maybe in Kent or Auburn? Anybody in the city would be high to support McLame.
Speaking of McLame, he should be on the Lame List, or What's Weak This Week.

Sorry, I've had a few and have been waxing nostalgic about Almost Live.

I've only been through Apex once, while on the way back from Raven Rock. I dig that little Main Street area. SCary is right! Although I hear there are some good Indian restaurants. And Trader Joe's. Mmm.

I haven't been following Hagan too closely, but she'll get my vote, obviously. It's to the point that I cheer if I make it through two green lights on Falls of Neuse/Wake Forest. Something's gotta be done!

It looked like it had been discarded.
It was in such a random place, and in bad shape from having been walked on so much.

I just don't know where somebody even got one of those things. It's as if John McCain doesn't even exist, here in Philly.

and he admitted wearing it into the bar just to get a rise out of me.

So I smiled and suggested we bet a shot and a beer on the presidential race, with me taking Obama, and him taking McCain. He smiled sheepishly and shook his head no.

So then I looked around at the ten or twelve people sitting at the bar (mostly friends) and said, "I'll bet a shot and a beer on each of these three things happening. The Democrats will increase their majority in the House, the Democrats will increase their majority in the Senate, and Barack Obama will beat John McCain for the presidency."

Everybody their shook their heads and said no. Not a taker in the house. And this was not in some liberal hang-out of a bar, either.

Onedit: That one guy with that one hat, is the ONLY John McCain logo\sign I've seen so far.

I do a lot of driving in and around the Portland area, out into the suburbs and the sub suburbs. Spend between 6-12 hours every day at it. I have as yet to see even 1 single McCain sticker, sign, or anything. There are still a very few W stickers, a smattering of Ron paul stickers(and a lot of signs on public right of ways), a smattering of Hillary stickers and signs, a growing number of Obama stickers, quite a few out for some local candidates. Not 1 for McCain.

Since I live in Maryland, I have to assume the guy lost a bet. I mean, the Republican party in MD went flat broke this year. Republicans in MD must feel like George Bush does in a library. Completely out of place.

53. Saw a couple in Waco
We've been househunting in Waco and in one particular neighborhood I saw a couple of McCain signs, one "Anybody but a Democrat", but many more Obama and Hillary signs. On the highway I see lots and lots of Ron Paul bumperstickers.

Yesterday my father sent me an email with anti-Obama message -- from the "ACLU" -- "Anti-Christian something or other"... that we can't call it the "White" House anymore, and listed all the lies about taking an oath on the Koran, won't sing the National Anthem, he's a Muslim... I just lost it -- I called my father and in language he's never heard me use before I told him never send me that crap again and that it was all a lie. When he sends it out, he's a liar and a hypocrite. I'm still so upset about this -- what a happy father's day this is going to be. I felt like all of the lies and insinuations I've put up with ever since I was old enough to understand I just had to say, "enough."

57. I've seen one bumper sticker and a couple of lawn signs.
Edited on Mon Jun-09-08 09:38 AM by No Surrender
The signs were on the lawns of known staunch Republicans. I'm in IL and the signs I saw were in a purple part of my county.

edited for typo

58. I've only seen a few in Iowa
and not many at all in Illinois. But I'm wary of trying to gauge an election based on that. I remember discussing similar findings here in '04 with W signs.

61. I have seen one McCain bumper sticker in SoCal.
I was on the 91 Freeway just inside the Riverside County line several months ago when a huge white on white Town Car weaving in the lanes finally passed us after pulling up along side and dropping back a few times ~~ we were in heavy traffic. Four very elderly white women with completely white Dairy Queen hair-dos were in the car. The one riding shotgun was barely tall enough to see out the window and was wearing those kind of totally black wrap-around sunglasses that eye doctors give out. The driver was weaving the hell all over the lanes like she could not control the giant Town Car and when changing lanes, the driver was cutting off other drivers and causing them to slam on their brakes.

Did not know whether to laugh or cry at this one...but thought it pretty typical of what McCain supporters must be like.

69. Saw one the other day (I'm in Columbia, SC)
It was on the back of a pickup truck (surprise sur-fucking-prise, right?) next to a sticker saying "GOD BLESS JOHN WAYNE". I guess it was "praise your favorite dead movie star day" - I'm getting my "PETER SELLERS WAS FUNNY" bumper sticker printed up right now.

86. Here in Kansas...
I've only seen one that I can think of, and that was yesterday. Granted, being in KC right now, everyone tends to be a little more liberal than the smaller towns. But when I'm going to school at K-State in Manhattan, I still haven't seen any signs or anything to my recollection in support of McSame.

He's not got a chance. Even my rural PA Repub Mom is voting for Obama this year;
her first vote for a Dem since Carter, 28 years ago.

Voter suppression and Diebold shenanigans aren't gonna be enough;
even with all that, McSame is still going down in a landslide defeat.
