Are there any reporters that feel any remorse for the job they are doing
When, in their hearts, they know Bush is a moron. They know his policies are dangerous for our country. They know he is in the pocket of Big Business and Big Oil. They know he is not capable of stringing two thoughts together, let alone plan the strategy for the withdrawal of troops from Europe and South Korea. They know he has not told the truth about one thing since he has been in office. Yet, they continue to come out and regurgitate their old company lines. Are they patriots or are they whores? And they expect us to respect them as journalists. Journalists have principles. These whores have none.

2. They are in it for the money. They couldn't care less. n/t
They will say and do nothing that would threaten those fat pay checks. Always willing to talk about money in "politics". Will never talk about money in "journalism".

3. Why would they be fair to a candidate
...that might take power and riches away from their employer?

There is nothing in the American media to bring balance to the conflict of interest inherent in news-for-profit.

4. Just finished an article on the WaPo & NYT "We were wrong" statements
As more mainstream media outlets admit to failures in covering the Iraq War, a question must be asked: Are we seeing a real coming to grips by a media that helped "sell the war" to the American public? Or could the recent mea culpas be something more insidious, more like what the CIA used to call a "limited hang out?" That phrase translates as "you concede a little to hide a lot."

These guys say sorry whoops, then go right on supporting BushCo and his war.

Even when they say they are sorry, they show they are not.

8. Even when they say they're sorry,
they're still pretty damn lukewarm about it. They say the absolute minimum that they can get away with, continue to make excuses, and don't even acknowledge their most egregious acts, preferring to focus on more minor faults in their reporting.

5. Those seven figure paychecks are the salve to their
erstwhile consciences.

Whores, one and all (ok, 99%).

6. I think Dan Rather has some,
at least he seems to on the basis of things he has told Greg Palast.

7. Remember...
the reporters created Bush. They took the slothful son of a former president and turned him into a compassionate cowboy. They justified his inexperience (seasoned VP), lack of intellect (good advisor's), inability to speak in complete and intelligible sentences (charming), closed mind (resolve), etc. The "journalists" sold this know-nothing to the public, and just as the tobacco companies have to answer to an unknowing public for their lies (cigarettes don't cause cancer) so, too, do the media whores have to answer to us for their lies.

9. Very well said, SandraB
:) They have to know that we know. They only hope that we are the minority.

Fascinating to be a spectator at the Moron Olympics.

11. Sandra---make that a separate post---that is absolutely what
happened. And it probably would be nice for a bunch of us to copy it and e-mail to the media.

12. I guess that could be behind
Tweety's recent makeover. I tend to think it's more likely that he wants to be on the winning side, rather than he feels guilty.
