Georgia, electoral-vote.com, and morale....
Many of you are familiar with electoral-vote.com...they keep up with the current polls and have a really cool electoral map. Earlier this week, they had Georgia listed as a solid red state. With information from RubyDuby, I sent a correction and Georgia was relisted today as a pink state- weak Bush.

However, there's an inconsistency. Bush only leads by 4 points in Georgia 50/46. In states where Kerry is leading by 4 points- West Virginia and Michigan, for example- the states are listed as "barely Kerry," not "weak Kerry." There is a big psychological difference.

About 50,000 people visit www.electoral-vote.com every day. If we can convince the votemaster that Georgia belongs in the toss-up column (which it clearly does) people will start talking about Georgia as a toss-up state. And you-know-who might start spending some money there.

Either way, he needs to either move WVa and Michigan stronger into the Kerry column or put Georgia on equal footing. Here's his email address:

1. Maybe it's because Georgia's corrupt black box voting
will probably assure Bush a "win" no matter how the people vote. Am I being sarcastic? Yes; but only a little.

2. The poll listed on that site
Has Bush leading 46/41, a 5% spread. He's pretty consistant with his color coding that a lead of <5% is pink/blue outline, 5-10% is pink or light blue solid, and >10% is dark red or dark blue.

Although it is odd that he talks about the correction down below and doesn't use those numbers up above....

4. That's what I'm talking about...
The poll is a 4 point spread. I think he just subtracted some stuff from the poll at the top instead of replacing the numbers. Either way, he should clarify.

And it looks nice for Georgia to be all not red again. I knew it didn't belong with Mississippi.

5. Oregon Too is Listed As "Barely"
Even though Kerry is at 50%!! It's a 4pt. lead, but the 50% mark is VERY important!

8. he's got a straight forward rule of using the latest published result
I believe his excel file that holds the data will automatically switch the state according to the rules he's set up.

I e-mailed him a few times, he's pro-Kerry and pretty cool but his site's popularity has grown leaps and bounds. So, if he gets barraged with a ton of ideas to change his site or rules well...there are alot of other sites counting the EV or you can start your own site. He's welcome to alerting him to possible bugs in his program but I think his rules are fair, honest and to the point. Although, he could 86 the strategic vision polls.
