PLEASE *** Can we PLEEAASE stop talking about 2012??
There is only one year to focus on. Just like in 2006 all of the focus was on the fact that yes...we're stuck with a criminal/dumbshit/asshole for president...but we will take away his rubber stamp. Nothing else mattered.

Same with right now. IF we can all stay focused on these less than 5 months.....If we can have laser like attention on the 21 weeks between us and election day....If we can whip up support for our Democratic nominee these approximately 150 days....we can have President Obama in the White House and the talk will be about what he's going to do his first 4 years that will make us want to vote for him again in 2012.

I just can't stand that talk about "next election". It is ALLL ABOUT our guy. It's ALLL ABOUT the complete lack of principles and slight crazed nature of McCain we must deal with and repel.

4. exactly. we're already so far down the road to perdition with 8 years.
WHO THE F*** says we should have 12 years of GOP? I mean, the only reason Bush Sr. got his chance was because of how high Reagan's ratings finally got at the end. People don't like Bush. Even McCain doesn't want to be seen with Bush.

I also see McCain is on a photo op kick to look young and cool too. Sorry, dude. You're like a 50-something trying to be a 20-something at a cool indie rock concert. It ain't working.

We need to win this. PLUS.....everybody and their brother is sick of what 8 BUsh years have wrought.

McCain is Senor Scapegoat. The whipping boy.

GOd, how I wish I could kick Bush's ass right now. He deserves to have his ass dropped to the curb with one swift punch.

6. absolutely. I'll be thinking of 2012 on November 6
Election day is the 4th and I will be seriously pile driven into the earth by massive amounts of drinking and partying into the wee hours of November 5th when Obama becomes President-elect.

November 5th will be one big haze of happy thoughts and leftover booze.....and then on the 6th I might start thinking of 2010 and 2012.

13. With the current trend, there won't even be a Republican party
in 2012. We need to focus on 2008 and what we do as citizens following the change we are so desperately fighting for.

I could even see it if their base shrinks and the really whacko ones gravitate to nativist parties or Libertarians.

32. Stevie M is convinced Obama will be one of the worst Presidents in history
But he agreed to give him a chance if I would agree to vote for the Dem nominee in 2012 even if it happens to be someone who beats President Obama in the primaries. I told him that barring it being someone like Lieberman I would.

As skeptical as Stevie M is, I think he will wind up being pleasantly surprised with President Obama and supporting his re-election.

33. I am glad that we reached this agreement. I can't even begin to imagine that you are right in your
analysis. All I want from Obama is the right Supreme Court appointments, and I have already resigned myself to the fact that it is all I will get.

I can't envision any circumstances under which Lieberman would get nominated. I am thinking Clinton or O'Malley.

Steve
