Remember - Republicans still want disunity
For my one and only OP in GD-P this year, I'd like to remind us all that the GOP is out there and they want to see us at each others throats at the convention and beyond. The serious politically minded Dems are already coming together - very quickly considering the heat of the primary season. The ones who are taking longer or who aren't going to be able to back Obama will be very small number by the convention if we all keep our heads.

In the weeks to come the GOP will be starting whispering campaigns and rumors. They'll have to do with ill-treatment of Hillary and women in general by Obama, machinations by the DNC, as well as anything newer they can come up with, they'll be hinting broadly at dissembling and scheming on the Hillary side. It's all going to be bullshit. Let's work every day to remember that and not rise to the bait.

8. They got it and the infighting her sure did serve the GOP!
Trolls ruled DU for months, since I got here anyways!:wow: I'll give it a few more weeks; my sister said she liked it on DU..............oh, I am trying to understand her reasons....I have yet to see the kindness and welcoming of each new member, the political stragy discussion........All I saw was road rage most of the time. I tried to spead peace among the members but would be ignored, called a troll etc.......... :scared:

2. You're right; they've already started, but once people recognize
who's behind this, and perhaps ignore them, they'll soon get bored. No sense in confronting any of these people as they have an agenda they're following.

3. Thank gosh that those who visibly don't support Obama will be tombstoned. At least the DU
will be a haven with relatively less GOP bullshit floating around.

9. Yep, it is necessary to be vigilant.
It looks like a few here today have really outed themselves, but it is clear that the vast majority of posters one DU are sincere.

10. I think that those who aren't are gone pretty quick
DU is experienced in such things and you can't be a sock puppet for too long here. But that doesn't mean they won't try. Other places, I think they've been more successful.

I haven't read much from hillaryis44 but there's a smaller, but busy, pro-Hillary, very anti-Obama blog that I've been reading daily to kind of get sense of how they're thinking. As long as a couple of weeks ago there were some there who were debating what to do if Obama did prevail. Some said they'd vote for him, but most wouldn't. They were kicking around options - write Hillary in, vote for Bob Barr or Nader if he were on the ticket, just not vote on the presidential line, or vote for McCain. Originally a lot said they weren't voting for McCain. There one particular commenter who was always quick to jump in and say "You're only really making your statement if you vote McCain.", "Don't be afraid to really oppose Obama by voting for McCain.", etc. You get the idea. It was clear to me that this guy was a Repub working for the McCain campaign, if only as a freelancer. That was enlightening. I also figure they'll be here - not so much as Hillary supporters tearing down Obama, but now posting as Obama supporters telling us that there's a plot afoot and keep us fighting. After all, McCain doesn't have a lot going for him. He's hoping for divisions among the Dems and racism. That's all he's got.
