I think I felt saddest for Mrs. Rodham
Edited on Sat Jun-07-08 12:51 PM by MonkeyFunk
This had to be a big disappointment for her.

She turned 89 years old two days ago - she's not looking ahead to 2012 or 2016. But she has to be extraordinarily proud of her daughter and what she DID accomplish.

1. I agree. I thought the same thing.
It would be wonderful if she lived to see her daughter be president, but it will be hard.

She does look REALLY good for her age though!

that I feel sad that she isn't on the ticket too. And yes her mom.

4. She saw her daughter make history
As a dad, I have seen my son miss out by one spot of getting a medal in a Cross Country race, lose a majority of his wrestling matches, and even come in last one time in an 800m track event. I was never prouder.

Trust me. The much deserved pride is there!

7. Oh, I have no doubt
she's very very proud. But it has to be sad for her, at the same time.

10. yeah I get it!
I would have loved to see my son medal in cross country, and I embarrassed him handily when he won one of his wrestling matches!!! (that's MY boy!)

16. that's really nice!
As a parent, I know what you mean. It's just so amazing and wonderful and touching to see your kid out there putting his/her all into something; the result doesn't matter so much.

Edited on Sat Jun-07-08 12:56 PM by democrattotheend
I'm already feeling close to tears...don't make me cry!

I heard that her mother's birthday was the day after the last primaries...I'm sad she didn't get the birthday present she must have wanted. And I can sympathize...my birthday was 2 days after the Ohio and Texas primaries.

8. I don't think a single mother out there could be disappointed in a daughter like Hillary.
Edited on Sat Jun-07-08 01:04 PM by kwenu
Every mother I know is happy knowing that their child is happy, not necessarily fulfilling some sort of legacy on behalf of mom. Hillary showed us that she is comfortable and confident about her future.

I wholeheartedly agree with you...she must be very, very proud of the great strides and accomplishments of her daughter.

Hillary has been Ivy League educated attorney, First Lady of a state, First Lady of the country - for two terms and she's on her second term as Senator from NY. Her mother doesn't exactly have to hold her head in shame when she meets up with friends.
