Hillary Won 22 Primary Contests Against A Nominee! One of the best showings ever!
Edited on Sat Jun-07-08 12:53 PM by Carrieyazel
Only one other candidate has ever won as many primary campaign contests and NOT been a party's nominee for President. Hillary, even in defeat, made a tremendous showing in this primary campaign.

The closest ever race for President in the modern political era. Obama could not win until the "last dog died". For all of the mistakes Hillary made, she has much to be proud of and came so close to victory.

1. She doesn't give up easily
and that's why she will be the first woman president sometime soon.

11. I'll hand her this much ...

She would not have conceded Ohio the way Kerry did.

3. As Rick Flair said, in order to be the best, you
have to beat the best.

5. To be fair...
Had she dropped out (as many would have) in mid February after Obama won 11 contests in a row and she was in a bit of debt, that wouldn't be true. So perhaps the tally has more to do with primary order and refusal to drop out than anything else. Just saying...

12. The big tally ...

The big tally is $ (-30,000,000,000). So perhaps it has something to do with overreaching.

9. It Really Is Phenomenal
I was an Edwards supporter, but in retrospect, I am glad things turned out as they did.

As much as I think Edwards had the best vision and would have done well against McCain, I look back now and am glad that another WASP male didn't defeat the first viable woman and first viable African American. I am glad he dropped early too, because if he'd stayed in 3rd place, a his scrappy-ness would have led him to say something that would be perceived as racist or sexist.

Poor Edwards, the timing just wasn't right for him.

Hillary has shown a woman can do it. For all the allegations of sexism, what really defeated Hillary was that her campaign got outmaneuvered. And of course, she was running against another outstanding candidate.

13. She showed that women can lose? Because if she HAD won then she
would have been different.

Just as Senator Obama needs to win in the general to show a nonWASP can be elected prez. It was not that historic outside of having more of a viablity argument.

15. The kitchen accounted for much of that, which we hope can be remedied.
Also name ID. She was a fierce competitor, and deserves credit if no permanent harm.
