6. I can agree that simple attacks on his age are out-of-place ...

... but his age *is* an issue that needs to be addressed, especially given his past health issues. Would a health insurance company actuary place McCain and Obama in the same risk group? As for his name, "McSame" is just too perfect to NOT use, and so I, for one, will continue.

This being said, limiting one's criticism to age and name-games is hardly a convincing argument.

But I suppose I am going to have to do some thinking on whether McCain's age -- and past health issues -- is not a concern. Were the line-of-succession to be merely temporary with a mandatory special election within N months to elect a new President I'd be less concerned, but the automatic succession to the VP makes McCain's age and health an issue, with varying degrees of criticality based on whom he chooses as his VP.
