"Every moment spent looking back keeps us from moving forward . . . We will make history together as we write the next chapter in the American story."

"We cannot let this moment slip away. We have come too far and accomplished too much.

Now, the journey ahead will not be easy. Some will say we can't do it, that it's too hard, we're just not up to the task. But for as long as America has existed, it has been the American way to reject can't-do claims and to choose instead to stretch the boundaries of the possible through hard work, determination, and a pioneering spirit.

It is this belief, this optimism that Senator Obama and I share and that has inspired so many millions of our supporters to make their voices heard. So today I am standing with Senator Obama to say: Yes, we can! "

I must have missed that part--I was sweating my ass off trying to cut my goddamn hayfield of a lawn.

Good on her.

9. Me,too.
Plus, I pruned lilacs and weeded three flower beds and the herb garden. Just crawled out of a shower because I had to scrape the crud off so I missed the speech and am catching up now. We're trying to beat the storms coming in shortly. I'm pooped.

Hope there is a play by play thread.

11. Excellent! This speech went way beyond my expectations.
So much so that I even went and donated $50 at HillaryClinton.com. Just my way of showing appreciation.

This was a superb speech, in just the right tone. It even had me tearing up a bit in spots.

Hillary, ya done good!

16. I've spent this whole week just getting emotional at the history we're making
and now I add Hillary's speech to that list of lumps in my throat: "18 million cracks in the glass ceiling." It was a beautiful speech, and I'm so looking forward to the dems going unified into the fall. Yes we can!

Edited on Sat Jun-07-08 01:26 PM by tokenlib
The war, the dangers of leaving the Supreme Court to the whims of the republicans and so many other reasons why a disgruntled supporter might enjoy some short-term retribution by a vote for McCain----but in the end they would regret their action in light of the long-term consequences.

31. K & R. Beautiful speech, and I am proud to have campaigned and been a delegate for this amazing
candidate.

This is my last post here, I'm certain "gloating" week would be more than I could bear.

It's been an honor and privilege to post with many of you here. To some of you, I've communicated that personally, knowing I would leave DU for good, soon.

DU has been a catalyst in my political awakening. I will always appreciate it came along at a time when I felt lost and disconnected from my country.

I'm not big into the farewell posts thing, but thought that almost four years to the day of joining DU, and this thread in particular, would be the place to say adios, mi amigos y amigas.

Perhaps I'll see some of you here in Denver.

Be well, stay strong.:hi: :grouphug:
