I am very impressed by this speech, and I think that maybe the two of them together could be unbeatable.

1. The only problem is that republicans will vote for McCain in droves; very possible.

6. I don't know...
Of course that's possible. But I've been hearing of more Republicans that are getting nervous about McCain's presence (or lack thereof) in light of Obama. We shall see.

I am feeling more energy this year than in the past. Change IS possible -- what is the alternative? Four more years of the same old shit. People cannot take much more.

8. I don't know that it matters
if the dems can keep the extraordinarily high turnout numbers and get them all to go for the dem candidate I don't think it matters if they pick up reps.

13. That's my concern too. I could get behind it but would it energize the GOP
like never before?

2. I still disagree. A supportive speech doesn't negate the vetting issues; however
Edited on Sat Jun-07-08 12:13 PM by CakeGrrl
it sounded like she was hinting at becoming the 'Healthcare Czar', so if they could agree on that, she'd advocate the heck out of it and would really be motivated to make it happen.

3. Bill refuses to allow himself to be vetted.
Hillary will never be VP.

19. a non-issue
Might have served some purpose in the primary race, but given how little we know about Obama, its irrelevant.

4. I'm pretty sure that's the point of this well written speech. Political posturing ftw.

7. no way - supreme court
where she can think for herself, which she does better than taking advice from jerks like Terry McAuliffe

9. Good point.
I guess what I was driving at was, she redeemed herself somewhat with me just now. I'm just sorry that it took her so long to do so.

I think Obama will find some place for her in the administration, and I think that whatever it is, she will do well.

16. I think she wants to break new ground though. There have already been
female justices.

17. Trust me- I don't say this to be divisive, but she's a vetting nightmare for that post
her ethics as a former lawyer will just not work for that.

As much as the justices shamed the entire court in 2000, don't lose sight of how stringent the qualifications should be for that body.

11. Personally...
I'm supporting whoever Obama puts on the ticket as Veep. He's done a pretty damn good job making decisions up to this point and if he asks Hillary to be on the ticket with him, I'll be 100% for them.

14. I'd support Hillary on the ticket and that's it.
Dump her loser team of advisors. They ruined her campaign and would ruin Obama's.

15. It was a great speech- don't lose track of reality, though
it will not work for the message of the campaign- Hillary in 2016, I could get behind, possibly- but for now, have her as part of the administration, but not on the ticket.

18. VP or Senate Majority Leader
and she can go on the trail with him, he could certainly use her support. She has a very large and loyal base.
