Please handle Hillary's speech with respect....
For those of us who have supported her for months, please refrain from flaming or making hateful comments. Many of us are willing and ready to make the switch to Obama...but we want our moment with our candidate today. I'm asking as a democrat, as a Clinton supporter and as a future Obama supporter. Please. Let us have this moment.

3. Just curious: how do you think Hillary handled Obama's historic moment Tuesday night?
Had she won it would have been equally as historic. How would the Clinton supports felt if in that case Obama had given a similar speech to the one the Hillary gave on Tuesday night?

8. I supported her as well
But it truly is time to move into the general election mode. I have never lost sight of the goal, a Dem Pres. I hope that she can now be a leader of the party and make party unity her number one goal. We will know soon.

6. If she says dumb shit, we're calling her on it. Anything less would not be respecting the fact...
that she's responsible for her actions.

32. Ditto.
You're free to support someone who voted for Bush's war if you like, but if her speech shows any of the selfishness she's shown throughout her campaign, Obama supporters are likely to call her on it.

Thank you, though (OP), for yet another thread telling us how to act. I hadn't seen one in at least four minutes and was starting to go through withdrawal symptoms.

the speech? She is not completely powerless here. I don't think it's fair to demand support and respect for anything she might say.

Give her a chance to speak.

12. I second that busymom! K&R this is the moment for our candidate
before we move on to Barack. I will always support Hillary as a politician and want her to have great success, and today will very bitter sweet.

and while I am already, at this point, behind Obama as our next president and look forward to putting him in the White House, I would like to have a nice, peaceful goodbye for such a wonderful, upstanding, kind, and goodwilled woman. She deserves respect just like Obama does. They have both worked hard.
