I miss tea. Can't drink it anymore. It does funky things to my tummy. Don't know why. Even strictly herbal stuff like Red Zinger. Sigh.

16. possible you are allergic to the daisy family?
it's fairly common. Try some herbal teas without chamomile in them. This helped me.

36. I am allergic to chamomile for damned sure
This I know. I avoid chamomile completely - which really sucks when it comes to them fancy eye creams.

I guess I need to look up all the things that are in the daisy family. Didn't know that - thanks. :hi:

61. Not too long ago
Celestial Seasonings started putting that disclaimer about daisy family on their boxes. I had wondered why I always felt queasy with some herbal teas. You have to watch for it in Chinese herbs, like mixes using chrysanthemum.

Family Compositae, one of the largest plant families (also known as Asteraceae, daisy family, and aster family), which contains more than 1,100 genera and almost 20,000 species of herbaceous plants, shrubs, and trees, found throughout the world. Though diverse in habit and habitat, composites tend to grow in sunlit places in temperate and subtropical regions. The family includes many garden ornamentals, including ageratums, asters, chrysanthemums, cosmos, dahlias, marigolds, and zinnias. Some genera include weeds such as dandelion, ragweed, and thistle. Artemisia, artichoke, endive, safflower, salsify, lettuce, and sunflower are important for the products derived from their flowers, seeds, leaves, roots, or tubers. Flower heads in this family are composed of many small flowers (florets) surrounded by bracts. Bell-shaped disk florets form the centre of each head; strap-shaped ray florets extend out like petals from the centre and are sometimes reflexed (bent back). Some species have flowers with only disk or only ray florets.

about texture (and BUTTER) and whole wheat changes the texture of whatever its used for.

Edited on Sat Jun-07-08 11:32 AM by marions ghost
people talk about when they're waiting....and time expands...and you're waiting and the discussion goes to edamame.

I went to my nephew's wedding last weekend. We encountered edamame served in their skins at the rehearsal picnic dinner, served as a side dish with shish kabobs (meat or veggie). Many people unfamiliar with edamame thought they were supposed to eat the pods which are very chewy and could possibly choke you. We thought they should have been shelled. My sister must have taken advantage of that Costco bargain. That's the kind of thing you talk about at the rehearsal dinner to strangers when the bride's family comes from afar and you know you'll likely never encounter them again.

Edamame....when will Hillary appear?

I stopped making soap because the grocery store stopped selling Red Devil. I only make it for fun and really don't want to get into buying mass quantities of industrial stuff. I guess I could do it old school and make my lye from ash but I was just wondering about where you get your lye.
