FOBs Warn The Obama Campaign About Completely Trusting The Clintons
“That is the atmosphere in which Clinton has now offered herself for the vice presidency. One of her supporters, prominent in Democratic politics for nearly half a century, saw the handwriting on the wall several weeks ago and approached Obama agents to suggest a unity ticket. "There was absolutely no interest -- none at all," he told me. "They wanted no part of it."

For some reason, the Clinton camp thought the popular vote would sway the Obama people to put her on the ticket. The Obama people weren't buying it, according to Novak.

Washington lawyer Lanny Davis, an indefatigable advocate for Bill and Hillary Clinton over the years, on his own wrote Obama Tuesday night urging him "to select Sen. Clinton in recognition of the more than 17 million Democrats who supported her at the polls." Davis also talked about a petition drive to promote that goal. The Obama camp's response was not positive.

April Ryan from American Urban Radio Networks said early in March that the unity ticket was highly unlikely. Here is what she said from an appearance on Hardball with Chris Matthews, according to the transcripts
http://j2k.naver.com/...

RYAN: Chris, this is a trust issue. I‘m telling you, everyone I talk to, they‘re saying it is a trust issue. J.C. Watts, a Republican, has said, look, he cannot trust her. She can trust him.

Also, people who the Clintons had stay in the Lincoln Bedroom said the same thing, and they said it would help to bring the party together, but he could not trust the Clintons”

“Folks, this is astonishing. Clinton loyalists are warning Obama that he cannot trust the former first couple.

When Obama rebuffed the Clintons through private channels on the veep slot, the Clintons tried to force his hand. As stated in the http://www.politico.com/...
, Hillary was laying claim to the veep slot knowing Obama did not want to give it to her.

Then, in a vigorous pushback to the increasing Clinton pressure, the Obama camp announced a trifecta of vice presidential vetters — a list that pointedly included a female Obama backer, Caroline Kennedy, niece to Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.).” cont…

34. First Of All
If it was over we wouldn't be waiting for the concession speech and GDP would no longer exist. Secondly, as long as her people keep up the BS of trying to force her onto his ticket, this remains relevant. Thirdly, advocating for one's candidate is not hate, especially when his opponent is still trying to force certain issues. If it had been by one vote or an inch, the winner is still the winner and the person who lost doesn't get to dictate the agenda.

41. Miss Andry of 2008 !!
It seems that most of the venom spewed by Hillary's supporters has alleged sexism and misogyny by anyone who opposes Clinton. FonkeyMunk knows, don't she?

But, as she says in a recent post, "you guys deny it" (which seems sexist to me!). To which she adds, "It's still going on today - fuck the hate and fuck the haters."

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x6301723

And, of course, all those "Haters" are male, we are left to presume, due to the first quote, "you guys deny it".

Perhaps it is time we all examine another word. One that has been demonstrated constantly on these boards: misandry. Find references below.

And you, FonkeyMunk, after reading your loverly gutter mutterings for weeks, do hereby nominate you for a title: Miss Andry, 2008

ticket is a very, very bad idea... This would not bring the change that Obama so wants to bring to Washington.

19. Hillary is already proving that she cant be VP by trying to order the Pres candidate around
she has talked herself completely out of any chance at being VP.

But she and Bill won't submit to the vetting process anyway, Bill doesn't want
to reveal the donors to his presidential library.

This is Obama's candidacy, and he cannot let Hillary control any part of it.

Any candidate for VP has to undergo the vetting process. He has already stated that.

42. A slave to The People ???
"the whole world will see him as weak and subserviant to Obama fan nuts"

It seems that the dilemma you see for OBAMA's choice is back and white (no pun intended): Either choose Hillary or not. And "the whole world", split into absolute pro's and con's, will be either happy or enraged, as the case may be.

If so, I think we could assume that choosing Hillary for VP would please all of her fervent (fulminating??) supporters. But, consequently, enraging the rest of the entire world, including all of the US citizens who will vote for him.

So the other side of that coin is NOT choosing her which would enrage the HillBots, but pleasing the remainder (generally referred to as "the citizens of the US").

So OBAMA's choice is either A) choose Hillary and make YOU and your ilk happy, or B) choose not to choose her which makes him "him as weak and subserviant to Obama fan nuts (generally referred to as "the citizens of the US"). Correct ?? :wow:

Get a grip, will you ??

You're right. That day was three months ago, after Hillary lost 12 consecutive contests.

But Her Royal Clintonness refused to acknowledge reality, and so here we are in June having to have this discussion that should have taken place, and ended, long ago.

You can thank Madame Inevitability for that.

I do understand how it feels and sympathize with those who feel the same way today, but this business of trying to get her on the ticket, a consolation prize if you will, does not sit well with me. 24. Exactly what I keep saying. The Clinton campaign has done nothing to build trust
And it's the biggest reason Obama should not take them onto the ticket.

Hillary's campaign against him has been about nothing but tearing Obama down, and she was still at it 4 days ago. The man wins the nomination, and on the same night it happened - and she KNEW it would - she's:

* still telling her supporters (and the rest of the viewing public, let's not forget) that she's the best person for the job
* still whining that everyone (Obama) wanted to push her out
* still beating the drum that she's still the one that's going to fight for their votes to be heard (not Obama)
* still pushing the straw man argument that she "won" the states that add up to 270 GE votes
* still pushing the false "popular vote" argument

Anyone who doesn't realize that is where her fanatics get this thinking needs to be directed back to this speech.

It was extortion to the last. 'If you don't give me something I want, I'll keep poisoning this well.'

Whatever she says today, no one will convince me she had an "epiphany of support" and is now willing of her own volition to support him.

She'll say what she needs to say to save face with Capitol Hill, but will she really mean it? Not a snowball's chance in hell, in my opinion.

After all the Clinton campaign has said about and done to Obama, he'd be a fool to believe a 180° shift in her thinking.

And he's no fool. He'll do what he needs to do to make sure he can provide a valid reason for not taking her onto his ticket, and if - IF - the Dem leadership has any sort of stones, they'll have his back on the issue.

30. The MSM loves to sow distrust
back into this campaign. It is not a necessary part of the VP consideration. All the argumentation on behalf of HRC as VP is also moot though at least it is positive.

Her VP selection is a five alarm fire. If one alarm is secretive and highly negative personally, that too is moot. You simply exclude people with high negatives. That vetting has been done and reaffirmed during the campaign. Many other fine Dems will likewise be more quietly excluded with careful research that again is much more than the personal trust issue. Two honorable Dems have excluded themselves.

For true information this is right to air. To have Novak or Matthews or their bosses calling the shots HOW to interpret Obama's refusal is- again- to be a sucker for the divisive route. In this KOS gives Novak a pass for the scoop. I don't.

It opens a whole can of ugliness as to exactly what that distrust means. Minimally it is exactly the same as what the MSM(again) will naturally install and move forward even if the Clintons had their lips sown up and buried under the VP desk, allowed out for occasional ribbon cutting and funerals. There is no good will or action or word, despite HRC's usually careful record in the Senate, that Hillary can perform as VP that will not be used, spun, held up as rivalry and intrigue against Obama and all Democrats. A major reason she thought her campaign viable in the first place is that she does not herself recognize this. Her often naive run-ins and deals with the media are every bit as alarming as the trust issue. She trusted Powell. She trusted the rigged intel reports. She trusted the media that crucified Bill. How she uses the trust of others is still an open issue.

I don't know about the rumor mill, but the part that is corporately sponsored we all know full well. Their motives are untrustworthy, their offerings of truth suspect, the distraction and negativity clear.

We don't need it and it would be better to get that issue out of the backrooms long before FOB's education of the Obama newbies. The ironic paradox is that the good friends of the Clintons being able to put party and nation before political loyalty reflects something strangely admirable about the Clintons. That paradox should keep people from darkly demonizing all things Clinton- which must include those friends and eventually all of us. As intended by Novak.

Friends of Bush Sr. never warned the Reagan people and Friends of Junior would have been justly afraid of their own necks if they were capable of putting the welfare of the nation anywhere in their schemes.

There is no crisis here to exploit. Let this pass only to the fact file. It is irrelevant to the present VP choice now, it is an unnecessary trap and distraction.
