Obama: Still Not The Messiah.
Pretty darn good Democrat though.

Just try and keep some perspective, lest you look a bit, well, loony.

That thread's been posted twice in the past couple of days.

21. LOL - actually, you may well be a lightworker too
A lightworker is a person who feels inspired to help others through spiritual meditation, teaching, healing, prayer, writing and speaking through unconditonal love. ...

-snip-

Probably the most common form of Lightwork would be a person who chooses to "shine their light." The premise behind the concept of "shining your light" is that our world and society are improved by people being kind, compassionate, loving, and considerate to each other. It is choosing to use actions, thoughts and words to create situations that show others they are appreciated, cared for, and loved. A person who chooses to use the label lightworker, often indicates a person who sees being loving and compassionate to others as a spiritual path – a path to connecting with the divine. ...

It is not a title he has used, not a position he claims but others have seen him in the position. There is nothing wrong with that. From my readings it would appear that all of us are lightworkers if we choose to do good and allow the "light" to shine from us through our words, works and deeds. Almost all formal religions believe similarily "they will know we are christians by our love" .

I think that is what I find most disturbing about some hillary supporters and what bothered me the most about Hillary. The mocking of hope, her carrying on as she did. Hope is all most of us have to cling to nowadays, we have to hope things will get better, we have to hope someone recognizes our hopes and will work to make things better.

To me it is a grave sin to try to take away someone's hope, if you do that, you may as well put a bullet in their head. Killing a spirit is murder.

It is up to you.

:hi:

23. For the gazillionth time--don't read Morford very often, do you?
The irony is that the OP essentially re-stated what Morford said, but in different terms. That's simply Morford's language, and if you read him very often, you wouldn't read too much into that.

Somebody needs to write a Morford-to-GDP translation guide.

70. He Doesn't Have To
This primary has presented us with the fact large numbers of democrats are willing to sacrifice their objectivity to fawn over candidates with the utmost zealotry. Frankly, I've found the past few months utterly intolerable and I, for one, am happy to put this bullshit behind us so we can start putting red elephants in our crosshairs instead of one another.

as such. Non sense, there wouldn't be taskforces waiting for his Presidency so we can work with him in order to get policies in acted for the betterment of the people. We're not lobbyists we're people making sure Obama sticks to his guns and does what he campaigned he would do. Messiah doesn't need a watch dog.

and the end of the Bush era seems within grasp...someone like Obama damn near seems like he wears a halo.
Of course, he's only human. With all the flaws that come with being one.
I don't seem him as a Messiah...
but I do think that he has real potential to be a great president.

34. He won the nomination. The media, and the public, are looking for affirmation of their feeling that
this is a meaningful occurrence. Woos are happy to give their woo ideas. Doesn't mean anyone other than woos actually believe it--and I hardly think it's fair to imply that increased vocalization from woos means that wooism is spreading, or that wooism is especially strong among Obama supporters.

Maybe its because since people have been through so much BS the past seven years with Bush Co,something promising comes along and we feel hope and awe again. But none of us have build altars and throw flowers whenever he walks by.

He is not a messiah, has he ever said that?Nope.Has anyone here ever said that?

20. Oh please, oh PLEASE start an OP with those pictures!
I've been reading too many disparaging posts from people asserting that it's somehow "creepy" that people get excited about Obama (the "Hands picture" thread, for instance) and try to touch him.

I'm old enough to remember the JFK and RFK days -- I was thinking about doing a search for some photos from back then, so I really appreciate that you've done the work for me.

Anyway, thank you so much for posting those photos, the memories from those times has me in tears. There's been so much darkness in all the years since then, seeing a bit of light shining through once more, in the hopefulness and joy that so many people feel around the candidacy of Obama, has definitely been an emotional experience.

Peace,
sw

Thank you again.

75. I will not curb my enthusiasm.
I am in TEARS every time I hear a teacher on th radio say that kids who normally don't do well in school, are suddenly inspired to do so. Because now, a black man (man, not deity) is going to be our PRESIDENT. We ARE equal. We CAN be who we want to be. It's powerful, and I'm awe that I'm alive to watch it happen. It's about time America caught up.

He represents to me, as a Democrat, the way things are SUPPOSED to be, and I believe he really will do everything he can to back up his promises. Perspective I have - mine. And I don't consider it loony. I, for once, am TRULY HOPEFUL.

- Hard-working white woman for Obama!

77. So, a "messiah" is the candidate who always tells his supporters--
--that nothing will change in 2009 unless they stay involved?
