1. I like him too. He was brave and put up with her crap to be among the first
to come out for Obama. I would have no problem with him as VP. Great guy.

3. I will say it again and again he is the VP answer, not just a popularity contest, like some of the
Other candidates that have been flung around, but he brings the most solid resume and geographical(considering the map Obama is going to run) sense also.

4. He should be in the cabinet, definitely.
I think his negotiating skills are top-notch and he would certainly bring some respect back to the State Department. IMHO

25. Cabinet, definitely. VP, no.
First off, I think his talents would be wasted in the VP slot. I don't see him really helping the ticket. He could help with the Latino demographic, but he could just as easily hurt with the white demographic. Having two minorities on the ticket may be a problem for some voters. He also isn't that inspiring a speaker. I feel like he is a very qualified person, and would probably be a useful addition to an Obama cabinet, but I don't see the appeal for him as VP.

7. All the Richardson-hating in this forum I'm aware of seems to come from one person.
Edited on Sat Jun-07-08 06:48 AM by Spider Jerusalem
That one person, who shall remain nameless, is a shrill and ugly whiner who seems to have the Democratic party confused with the Mafia and seems to think Richardson swore some sort of blood oath of loyalty and should now be drawn and quartered for high treason, or something. I would suggest that you're probably better off putting said person on ignore, because they contribute nothing positive to this forum anyway.

You know, the one where you need to call the doctor and go to the ER if the erection lasts for more than 4 hours. LOL!

8. I have no problem with Richardson
I'm not sure if he's the best choice for VP. He does have some definite strengths, his foreign policy experience, he's Latino, he's from a western state, and IMO he had the best energy plans of any of those running for President.

My biggest concern is that he performed so badly in debates. I'm afraid that would carry over into the general and might hurt. Fortunately, the VP debates aren't most people's primary concern, but it does worry me a bit.

As for the loyalty issue - I'd have a problem had he endorsed McCain - but as long as it's Clinton or Obama, that's fine.

You want to focus on a traitor to the party - hate Lieberman. Leave Richardson alone.
(or is hating Lieberman too obvious or passe?)

9. He wants amnesty and open borders.
The truth will set you free. He didn't insist those corrupted elections be investigated in 2004.

People may like him but not his politics. When he represents everyone interests he might get the support he needs.

light a match and burn the building down. It's what has been happening to the Clintons..all three..since 1992.

Edited on Sat Jun-07-08 08:41 AM by olkaz
I don't know why it's taking everybody so long to catch up on this. Richardson is a GREAT guy and a GREAT Democrat, but he absolutely will not be the vice president, ever.

HE CAN'T BE VETTED. Now let's move along to the ones that can.

Honestly, I don't know enough about the guy to have a big hate-on for him or anything.

But I do have a problem with him being homophobic.
