They're starting in full force. I received an email from my fundie brother-in-law calling Obama a "clown" for not putting his hand over his heart at the fund raiser in Sept. It's a chain email that hit in full force after it happened and now again. I'm gonna respond to my BIL, but I'm gonna have what I need to shut him up. Just a heads up 'cause the likes of Roger Stone are at work.

Forget debunking it to your relatives. They know those e-mails cannot be believed. They are pretending they believe them, or they WANT to believe them, and there is nothing you can do about that.

When I hear about those same ol' e-mails, I tell so-called friends, "Oh, come on. You know you can't believe those rightwing e-mails. They always do that. They did that to Kerry, too. You know better than that."

I don't get into the specifics, because there is nothing you can say to counter their supposed belief. But I call them on their common sense...because deep down they know those e-mails are not true. We've discussed various of those types of e-mails in the past.

you can't debunk his stupid beliefs. I just can't seem to let it go. This guy is a nice person until we talk politics. His mother was a friend to Bush and she calls him, "Bushy" :puke: to be cute. He and I have gone toe-to-toe about issues in the past and I knew this was coming. I usually ignore the emails--while my blood boils--but this one has really hit a nerve. I think it's the use of the word, "clown" that crawls all over me. It's belittling and it sounds like a "I am superior" tone. Typical rwing.

If anything, it will make me feel better to react with facts and grace-- that's why I'm waiting, otherwise it would be a "fuck-you idiot," which would sure feel good but would not help. This is someone that I see on a regular basis because of my sister, and I'm not gonna keep letting him think this is okay by not responding.
