"this will be my final counselor when I am making decisions in the White House..."
and I want to make sure I get it right."

Obama in interview with Candy Crowley.

Remember these words when thinking or talking about who you think Obama will pick for VP. Its going to be someone he has alot of respect for.

1. I like Joe Biden
He's tough enough and has a sense of humor and a low tolerance for bullshit.

2. I like Biden too...
...but Obama needs someone who can counter the "elite" label. Biden's a brilliant man, but it's going to be someone a little--er--folksier.

Bottom line, we don't need to worry about winning Delaware.

4. Yeah, but...
do people really pay attention to where the candidates are from? It never seems to make much difference in the election results. And are people who might be attracted to a "folksy" candidate going to vote for Obama anyway? I think all that "balanced ticket" thinking is kind of old-fashioned.

5. Biden would be by far the best choice in terms of experience and temperament
But he's a Senator and he brings Delaware, which we already have.
