1. Not a very popular view here but...
an armed populace makes alot of that a little to bloody to initialize.
True, partisans would never be able to face a US Army head on, but a guerilla style war can lag on forever.

5. That is why both
of my daughters can shoot rifles to damn near sniper standards. In fact I have some tactics already drawn up using snipers as part of an infantry squad and not working alone as a sniper team. The day may come when may have to make a stand. Making a stand is noble, but if you have nothing to back your stand with, then what is the point.

It used to just be something fun to go do and especially off the back of a boat when cruising and bareboating.....now it sounds like your daughters and I would be Annie Oakley's redux....I say that tongue in cheek, but I think that if there was ever a revolution, invasion or terrorists, this mommy could hold down the fort so to speak....

7. And you must expect
That a fair amount of the military will be reluctant to drop cluster bombs on Americans, and that a certain percentage will be more than sympathetic to an emerging resistance.

Remember ... the KGB wanted to roll tanks on Boris Yeltsin. It didn't work out for them. There are certain Republican theorists who need to consider that lesson very carefully.

8. I agree, I think.....but nothing is predictable now
the FACT that dumbo was AT LEAST totally incompetent, and CRIMINALL negligent over 911 is, to me, inconceivable

the aftermath, meaning the total subservience of most of America, including the media AND the democratic/Achordate party in the face of two and half years' more of TOTAL incompetence/predatory venality, makes me wonder how people will react in the face of the next MIHOP/LIHOP, which I think is more likely to happen if he LOSES.

It will happen in the interregnum between Nov and Jan.

assuming, of course, that certain republican legislatures, in complete accord with the US constitution, designate their OWN slate of electors, in states where Kerry won the vote

that's what Florida was going to do if Gore had been acknowledged the winner of the recount

23. I Think It Could
Edited on Wed Aug-18-04 12:51 AM by jackieforthedems
Although I hate to say it, I think it could happen here. http://www.prolognet.qc.ca/clyde/camp.htm was just looking at this site today. Not sure if it's just propaganda or what exactly, but if you look on the internet under REX 84-FEMA and American Holocaust, there are several sites that really get into this food for thought. America never thought another attack similar to Pearl Harbor could happen, but look at 9-11. Look at what's happening with Homeland Security and the Patriot Act - but first read just what FEMA can suspend regarding the Constitution if Martial Law is ever enforced in this country. If all communications are ever cut off, all transportation, and you're told to stay at home, etc... wouldn't that be a perfect time for something like this to happen? How would anyone know what's going on if your tv and radio didn't work anymore? They already tested us with 9-11, shutting down all air transportation (except for the Saudis to leave the country ). We have the border patrols protecting our borders, but could we get out of the country if we had to - would they let us? We take everything for granted in this country. We are far too comfortable here. Alot are wearing rose-colored glasses. It seems that this administration is trying really hard to cut down the chain of command within alot of departments, making it a whole lot easier for one person to have more than enough control. Has anyone else heard about the idea to get rid of the police forces and allow the military to handle things? Well, there you go - just one example. Bush's family connections to the NWO, etc... really make you wonder. Like I said, it all could just be conspiracy theories, but I think it never hurts to be aware of what's happened in the past, and to keep your eyes open in the future. :tinfoilhat:

Just from reading a few threads here today if Bush is elected it is the last act for everyone.

Thanks for sharing!
I love the way it lays it right out there for everyone to clearly see how history can repeated itself.

4. yep.....I work in a Jr. High TV studio
we often do a this day in history slide on Powerpoint at the beginning of the news

I did a series of slides on this, with shots of the reichstag with huge Nazi flag as backdrop, crowd shot from Triumph of the Will, a slide "commemorating" the Enabling Act of 1934

also did a bunch during and after the recount, including one of a cartoon of Rehnquist nailing shut a ballot box in Florida

another one of Katherine Harris as the statue of liberty, with ballots being set fire by the torch

nobody at school ever said anything

14. IMO, we are looking at Fascism+, not Nazism.
Edited on Wed Aug-18-04 12:00 AM by GloriaSmith
I think the thing that separates Nazism from what the US could turn in to is the blatant and extreme form of racism. Granted one could argue there is a huge amount of racism against Arabs, it doesn't necessarily apply to Arab-Americans (although there are exceptions) or to other minority races within the US (again, there are obvious exceptions but they don't compare to the Nazi's concept of racism).

IMO, we're looking at a Fascism/religious war/free market mix. I strongly believe the PNAC has way too much power over this administration and it makes sense to me that these people are looking at more than one example of history to study and follow.

http://www.fordham.edu/halsall/mod/mussolini-fascism.html

In 1932 Mussolini wrote (with the help of Giovanni Gentile) and entry for the Italian Encyclopedia on the definition of fascism.

Fascism, the more it considers and observes the future and the development of humanity quite apart from political considerations of the moment, believes neither in the possibility nor the utility of perpetual peace. It thus repudiates the doctrine of Pacifism -- born of a renunciation of the struggle and an act of cowardice in the face of sacrifice. War alone brings up to its highest tension all human energy and puts the stamp of nobility upon the peoples who have courage to meet it. All other trials are substitutes, which never really put men into the position where they have to make the great decision -- the alternative of life or death....

...The Fascist accepts life and loves it, knowing nothing of and despising suicide: he rather conceives of life as duty and struggle and conquest, but above all for others -- those who are at hand and those who are far distant, contemporaries, and those who will come after...

...Fascism the complete opposite of…Marxian Socialism, the materialist conception of history of human civilization can be explained simply through the conflict of interests among the various social groups and by the change and development in the means and instruments of production.... Fascism, now and always, believes in holiness and in heroism; that is to say, in actions influenced by no economic motive, direct or indirect. And if the economic conception of history be denied, according to which theory men are no more than puppets, carried to and fro by the waves of chance, while the real directing forces are quite out of their control, it follows that the existence of an unchangeable and unchanging class-war is also denied - the natural progeny of the economic conception of history. And above all Fascism denies that class-war can be the preponderant force in the transformation of society....

After Socialism, Fascism combats the whole complex system of democratic ideology, and repudiates it, whether in its theoretical premises or in its practical application. Fascism denies that the majority, by the simple fact that it is a majority, can direct human society; it denies that numbers alone can govern by means of a periodical consultation, and it affirms the immutable, beneficial, and fruitful inequality of mankind, which can never be permanently leveled through the mere operation of a mechanical process such as universal suffrage....

21. I have no problem with you there, EXCEPT for the possibilty
of CNP/Christian Reconstructionism taking hold in the face of some sort of chaotic situation. those folks are just as bad as the Taliban, and would have NO qualms slaughtering anybody not answering to their particular superstition, maybe starting a combine RACE+RELIGIOUS war at the same time

this is FUN!

a real junta would probably mean Bush's string pullers snuffing their leaders, as in Long Knives, but, again, who can predict?

since so much of his support is grounded in people like Moon, Rushdoony's followers, other snakehandlers, those are the ones most likely to support him if push comes to shove

dunno if he could risk abandoning them

sure would be a QUICK way to get our troops home, though, wouldn't it?

24. hmmm....
I love this thread, very interesting. I want to reply to this post, but I'm so tired right now I think I'll save it for tomorrow.

I'm embarrassed because I had to research CNP and now I'm a little sick to my stomach knowing about it. Sounds like this group is filled with many who wouldn't mind making the Rapture happen...which ties in nicely with Christian reconstruction. Sick and scary stuff. I'll swish it around in my head over night and continue this in the morning.

all the other tapes are available, except that one

I did a bunch of reading on them last election, and they ARE a nauseating bunch of maniacs, from Ollie North to Tommy Thompson

from Richard Wirthlin to Gary Aldrich

it's quite a group

if you haven't seen it, here's a membership list that's not up to date: RJ Rushdoony, leading exponent of Christian Reconstructionism.....look him up for some astoundingly insane utterances...just google his name+quotes
