1. Deduct FL, W.V., NC, MI and KY from Clinton's.

7. It's dated Jun 3rd...the same as Obama's....
I thought that it might make a case for her being on the VP slot. At the very least it makes a definite case for the Obama campaign to utilize Hillary as much as possible in those states he's weak in such as Florida and Ohio.

6. Excellent. Obama is already up on McCain, and we know how he always
does better as the races close in. And given that the GE is barely out of the starting gates (well, technically it hasn't even started) - only look for that number to increase.

That's the beauty of Obama's map, he'll work 50 states instead of 12 or 13. And in those 50 states, even states he's likely to lose, he'll force McSame to spend time, money and valuable resources just holding on to them. And in the process, we're likely to net more congressional and house seats. :D

How much do I love Dean, Obama, and the 50-state plan? More than I can say :woohoo:

24. Not to mention the difficulties McLame and the GOP are having with money
He can afford to make this a war of attrition and grind the GOP down across the country, the GOP by contrast doesn't have the means to do so and still win.

9. Clinton map with KY, WV, NC, MO,
is delusional. She probably wouldn't win OH< FL or MO either. In fact, Obama has a much better chance of winning VA, MO and GA than Hillary has of winning NC, KY and WV.

I thought the side-by-side comparisons were interesting. Hillary could help in areas where Obama is weak, IMO. Not sure why people have a problem with this.

21. I dunno
her 60% negatives?

Sorry -- "your gal" showed herself to be a vindictive, conniving asshat of a candidate. Some of us expected it, others, not so much.

I am sorry for your loss -- as an Edwards die hard, I can appreciate.

23. I'm a Hillary supporter who is sqarely behind Obama...
I'm sorry you feel the need to be so hateful. Hillary can help Obama a lot and that's what I want to see happen. It's shocking to see DUer's who don't want it to happen. That could cost the race if Obama is as spiteful as you toward her and her supporters.

25. I apologize if I came across as 'hateful'
Bottom line is that, while some people are attracted to her "at any cost" strategy, many are not.

I will be honest. I am a democrat -- but would have a hard time voting for the ticket if she is on it.

I respect his judgment on the VP call. I am simply weary of the Clintonian drama that she adds to the mix.

:(

We both want Obama to win and that's what counts. I can honestly say that I would proudly vote for Obama whether Hillary is on the ticket or not. I've always like them both very much.

Edited on Fri Jun-06-08 09:56 PM by cynatnite
In a head to head match up Hillary can take OH, FL and NC. Obama is just barely edging out McCain in OH. It seems obvious to me that Hillary could help him win those states.

These maps are just a few days old. We used these all the time in 2004. They were kept up to date and pretty reliable. Still not sure why people have such a problem with this.

29. Hillary was as close to a "sure thing" as you can get.
I'm sure the OP posted the June 3 data because it's the last date where Obama and McCain were both shown head to head against McCain. If the GE were held then, Hillary would have beat McCain by 133 EVs. Obama was squeaking by with 38. That's almost a hundred point difference between Obama and Clinton. Personally, I think the SDs who saw this data and chose to have us take our chances with Obama, especially when the candidates are not even that far apart on policy, are either fools or opportunists who cared more about shifting power within the Party than about actually winning the election. But what's done is done (well, not technically but I doubt any of them are going to change their minds). I'm ready to support Obama in the GE but I wonder if his camp is actually going to have enough sense to see that they need Hillary now or whether their Clinton-hate is going to cause them to blow the election. If we lose this year, it's unforgivable, because this really should have been an easy win.

Yes, Obama now leads McCain by 60 instead of 38. He pulled MO (11 votes) out of the McCain column which added 22 to his total: minus 11 for McCain and plus 11 for Obama equals 22. I hope Obama's numbers keep going up and not down. I really do. But I honestly don't feel great about our chances once the GOP smear machine gets into full swing. I always thought we needed to not just win but win big because I think the Republicans are going to steal it yet again if it's too close.
