Hillary would be fine as Attorney General, or better yet, Health and Human Service Secretary so she
can head up the healthcare cause again and complete it thereby giving the R's a big old shitburger to eat. And Bill should be an honorary US Ambassador to work with Carter to help bring a real peace agreement to Israel/Palestine and the post-Iraq war middle east.

(I'm an Obama supporter and don't think VP would work. Too many "issues" there.)

What do other people think?

1. Health and Human Services, yes.
AG no. She is too "in bed" with too many of the wrong people for me to believe she would be the pitbull we need in that spot.

2. HHS, fine, but not AG. That's reserved for John Edwards.
Edited on Fri Jun-06-08 08:50 PM by HawkeyeX
And he'll do a great job, better than any of the 3 nutters that Chimp pretended that they are AG's.

And Bill needs to stay out of any job offerings. He'll remain a speaker and tour. I think Obama has someone else in mind for Ambassador.

That's about all he's good for, to be honest.

22. Sen. Clinton admitted to knowingly telling something not true
Most of us non-politicians call that lying. I would like to have an AG who, unlike Gonzo and Ashcroft, is not an accomplished liar.

31. Hillary did not admit that, you spun it that way. She is not a liar, she was smeared by a bunch of
McCarthyites.

24. Plus she failed the DC bar exam which would look bad for an AG:
On the June 1 edition of NBC News' Today, Carl Bernstein suggested that he, in his upcoming book A Woman in Charge: The Life of Hillary Rodham Clinton (Alfred A. Knopf), is the first to disclose that Hillary Clinton failed the D.C. bar exam in the 1970s

Her legal experience is with corporate titans at the Rose Law Firm (Wal Mart , Jackson Stephens, WTI Toxic Waste Incinerator) and she was on THEIR SIDE!

3. I would rather see her get a lifetime appointment to The Supreme Court.
That way, we never have to endure another one of her political campaigns, ever again.

I like Hillary much more than I like Hillary's campaign.

Let's pray she never has to run for anything again.

Ever.

19. Cause it IS retarded ...
anything other than maybe secretary of state is major step down from a congressman ...

Secretary of health ???

Give up a SENATE seat for Secretary of Health ???

Sorry, that IS retarded ...

The other thing is, these are terminal positions ... She definitely would be gone when BO's presidential term ends, hopefully 8 years, but you never know, it could be 4 ... AND, she could get fired for some reason ...

She has her senate seat locked up for five years ... Can't get fired, A LOT more fame and influence ...

Bottom line, SHE controls her career as a senator, the moment she gives that up, she is relying on other people ...

7. She finishes her senate term, she retires.
After all the poo flinging, she's got about as much chance of working for Obama as I do of working for Tyson Chicken.

21. I'd rather see Dean as HHS secretary
He actually has experience in this area, both as a doctor, and also as Governor of VT. He is as much of a policy wonk as she is, without the drama. I also see him working with Obama much better. Why does Hillary have to even be in Obama's cabinet? Why can't she do her work as a Senator? Or is being the junior Senator from NY not good enough? There is nothing stopping her from writing universal healthcare legislation right now. Any sweeping changes will need to be done via legislation. She could be at the forefront right where she is.

14. I think it's rare for a sitting Senator to take a cabinet position
unless it's one of the big four: Defense, State, Treasury or Justice. Even then, it's often a recently-defeated senator or a retired one. A cabinet job usually lasts just a few years. Hillary's senate seat is hers as long as she wants it. I can't see her giving it up for a cabinet position.

29. Why would she give up the Senate for a Cabinet position?
Personally, I think the Senate is a more powerful position, given that I am sure she still has future political aspirations. If she leaves the Senate, I expect that it will be for the VP or Gov of NY.
