LIKELY NOMINEE? Anyone else have a problem with this?
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080606/pl_nm/usa_politics_dc

I heard Obama referred to today on a local progressive radio station (KPOJ, PDX) as the Democratic Party's "likely nominee." I then found this article.

I don't like it. Nope. This won't do. Forgive me if I'm a little jumpy, but I see this as possibly a subtle effort to diminish Obama's status as the legitimate, presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party. Maybe I'm overreacting, but I feel we must all be vigilant to protect the legitimate results of the long, arduous, Democratic Party primary process.

3. This is the traditional way of referring to the winner of the various party's nominees until that
party's convention, when the title switches to nominee. It's ok. Kerry was the likely or presumptive nominee until Boston. Grumpy McSame is being called the rethug presumptive/likely nominee, too.

4. Well he is more likely than McCain. He is not the nominee
Right now Republicans are wishing they had something called Super Delegates.
