Regardless of who hates Hillary
Regardless of who hates Hillary and why, she did manage to pull in roughly the same amount of votes as the person who beat her. Yeah she's pitchin a bitch right now but so what. If you were beaten at the finish line by a nose, wouldnt you want to see the replay to make sure? Yes. Do you still lose? YES. How she is behaving is what it is but the fact remains, it's over. For Hillary, her campaign is just about done, and things will now run their course. Be patient. She will drop out of the running formally and Obama will go up against McCain in November.

Writing OP's to vent your anger at how Clinton is behaving is IMHO pointless (hmm... wait for it). The only purpose it serves for the OP is an avenue to vent, which we all need to from time to time. But if Hillary is your vent topic you may need to consider other avenues, like a shrink, because the vast majority of people then jump in with you and rub every Hillary supporters nose in their loss and ridicule her behavior. That is just bad taste, especially for Democrats. And if you use the excuse "she started it" or "she deserves it" or "this is what they get, they should take their lumps", then we will NEVER unite, and we WILL get beaten by a republican this fall. You will be the ones who could have reached out and pulled one or two across, but instead you yelled out SUCKA!! and let em fall. Mark my words, all of you who fed the fire will have yourselves to blame if we don't lock this up.

Guess what, regardless of what the news media tells you and what you read in the paper, this race isn't over. We HAVE NOT won against McCain. WE WILL HAVE TO WORK TOGETHER to beat him and that means ALL Democrats. Even though he's a piece of crap and doesn't deserve to be running, he is still their nominee. Haven't they proven that they have the ability to get a chimp into the white house?. Republican strategy involves pitting us against each other. Guess what, it's working. Wake the fuck up.

3. You overestimate the impact of DU on the voting public.
This is a political discussion board where views are expressed by people interested in political debate. Not something devoted to cheerleading certain candidates.

There has always been, always will be, a conflict between the left and right wings of the party.

The Clintons brought that to the fore with their attacks on the left. The left is responding in kind.

Live with it.

4. So you disagree
that how you behave here is indicative of how you behave in the "real world". i.e. your opinions here stay here and don't venture into conversations you may have with others?

Maybe I did overestimate this place.

5. So? Would you prefer the voters not have opinions?
Or, minds of their own? Sure, I tell others what I think politically, they tell me what they think. Being an adult, I think myself capable of making my own decisions, as they are capable of making theirs.

7. Plain and simple
Regardless of what has happened, alot of people on here are being very divisive and I think it's disgusting. Especially at this level of the game.

8. Oh, well. Differences of opinion are what make horse-races and politics.

6. Imagine that logic applied to sports.
She won about half of three fourths of the contests and none of the remaining fourth of the contests.

Two teams split 36 games, and one team wins an additional 14 games.

Not really close there or in this nomination process. He beat her soundly when the entire race is looked at. You can't refuse to look at over 25% of the contests, all of which he won.

9. I'm not disputing her loss AT ALL.
He won fair and square. My analogy "by a nose" relates to the delegates. Not including the supers it was a tight race.

10. If you're really trying to establish unity, I suggest you stop your caustic attacks on fellow DUers.
I didn't get up on a stage, on national TV, and go on and on about how Barack Obama thinks ordinary working people are bitter. I didn't tell a TV audience of millions that John McCain has more foreign policy credentials than Obama. I didn't tell a reporter, on the record, that Obama has a problem with "hard-working Americans, white Americans". Not to mention the crazy sh*t her surrogates have been saying.

Yeah, Hillary's getting criticized here -- on an ANONYMOUS INTERNET FORUM. What Hillary Clinton did is a ten thousand times more divisive than a post on DU which says "I hate Hillary". I'm quite sure whoever posted that wouldn't go on national TV and say that McCain is more prepared than Hillary Clinton to be commander and chief. Yet you give her a pass for that, and direct your anger at DUers.

So, if it's unity you're after, how about you start by not blaming DUers for the rift in the party which was created by Hillary Clinton. The phrase "wake the f*ck up" doesn't exactly sound like a peace offering, nor does advising critics of Hillary that they should visit a shrink.

Here's my opinion. Hillary Clinton took a big crap on the Democratic Party, and, sadly, it looks like she's not going to do very much to clean it up. A lot of people are rightfully upset about how she's behaved over the last few months.

But we are all Democrats, and we do need to come together to win in November. I'm willing to try and help heal the party. I'm willing to help clean up Hillary Clinton's mess.

But I'm not taking the blame for it. I'm not apologizing for being critical of her. I'm not going to pretend that she ran an honorable campaign. I'm not going to be held hostage by a few nutcases who are threatening to vote Republican as revenge against anonymous internet posters.

I've calmed down.

"I didn't get up on a stage, on national TV...."
I never once disputed that the things she did were horrible.

"What Hillary Clinton did is a ten thousand times more divisive than a post on DU which says "I hate Hillary".
Yes! Once again, I never disputed that. Regardless, she still has supporters. Insulting them doesn't bring them over.

"So, if it's unity you're after, how about you start by not blaming DUers for the rift in the party which was created by Hillary Clinton. The phrase "wake the f*ck up" doesn't exactly sound like a peace offering, nor does advising critics of Hillary that they should visit a shrink."
I never blamed DU'ers for the rift in the party. It was created by HC. But SOME DU'er are perpetuating it. People who continuously bash Hillary are venting their anger for her and what she's done, no doubt. Im just saying it doesn't move us forward. If I am blunt it's because maybe I need to be.

"Here's my opinion. Hillary Clinton took a big crap on the Democratic Party, and, sadly, it looks like she's not going to do very much to clean it up. A lot of people are rightfully upset about how she's behaved over the last few months."
Again, I'm not disputing what she has done or its effect. People have been voicing their anger about it for months, over and over, consistently. Everyone hears it. It's literally on the front page every day.

"But I'm not taking the blame for it. I'm not apologizing for being critical of her. I'm not going to pretend that she ran an honorable campaign. I'm not going to be held hostage by a few nutcases who are threatening to vote Republican as revenge against anonymous internet posters."
No one is asking you to take the blame or apologize. Our democratic votes are not in a hostage state but they are in limbo. Like you, I am also angered at the dividing that Hillary has accomplished. Obama and the rest of us democrats WILL have to clean up the mess. And spouting insults everywhere isn't getting it done. That's all I'm saying.

It will be ignored by many, I completely expect that. But it is my opinion and I will not keep it to myself.
