When will the vp be chosen?

Is there a precedent for a particular time of year? I can't remember when Kerry chose Edwards.

Look for late July or early August.

I think he should wait until at least then. He needs to transition to the general election, and choosing a running mate too soon will be a distraction.

This will keep the interest on the race. It would create a more lasting excitement if announced at the convention, in my opinion.

I think Obama will pick his VP sooner than later. If he is going to try and turn red states blue, he will need to show he is about changing things.
