Democrats, put down your swords
In today's Salon, by Joe Conason --

June 6, 2008 | For Democrats of all persuasions, the conclusion of the primaries should encourage reflection rather than recrimination. Now is the time to listen to the calm counsel that cannot be heard amid the roar of combat, and to think.

Hillary Clinton needs to think about how best to preserve the gains of her campaign without spoiling it all. Barack Obama must consider how best to unite his party while making choices, including a running mate, true to his own instincts and style. Meanwhile their supporters can take deep breaths and try to imagine how they will feel on Nov. 5 if John McCain has won the presidency.

3. Conason: "Still, there would be nothing wrong with Clinton's keeping her delegates intact until the
convention, and even going through a roll-call vote that she will lose, simply to record how close a woman came to winning this race -- so long as it is she who then rises to move that the convention nominate Obama unanimously by acclamation. She has earned that honor."

7. she earned it from her proDem party tactic to divide Jewish and black voters in Pennsylvania.
Forget Joe - there isn't enough whitewash to pretend Clinton EARNED any real Democrat's respect or gratitude. She did what she did TO HELP McCain as she knew she could not win after Super Tuesday.

5. All those reports that Sen clinton's supporters will vote Mcbush because
she didn't get the nom is I believe BS, anyone that is proffessing to do that in my opinion are nothing more than GOP plants and should be treated as such accordingly....I just don't believe those reports at all and even anyone stating such on this site should be seen as undercover GOP period.

Smoke and mirrors nothing more nothing less.

6. There are some that will out of spite.
Seeing some long-time posters showing their asses here convinces me that there are some. But I too think it's being way overhyped in the media (surprise!) and here to try to scare us and drive down turnout and hurt Obama. BUT it's not worth it to try to kiss those people's butts--they will not change their minds.

9. Maybe some are just saying such out of anger and nothing more
seriously, I would say the Hillary supporters have really been mistreated and the attacks on them personaly I have no doubt makes them angry enough to say things they really don't mean. I just can't see any trully sane person voting for a repub unless they were one all along.
