I don't recall a push to put Dean on Kerry's ticket
I was a huge Dean supporter, but when he fell from first place, I accepted Kerry and strongly believed that Edwards would be his best VP choice.

What is so different about this year that so many people are demanding that the rules be bent AND that Obama should not be in control of his VP choice?

8. Edwards and Lieberman were both being pushed by DLC brass in 2003. Axelrod was w/Edwards

and Hillary's people were with Lieberman.

I think they used Lieberman in 2003-4 to attack Kerry as weak on national security because though he voted to support the IWR to get inspectors in, he sided with the weapon inspectors who were proving war was not necessary, and the Clinton people (Penn, Grunwald) thought Joe could make him look weak for NOT supporting Bush on his war decision.

This bears out as Bill Clinton went around after 2004 insisting that Kerry lost because he was weak on national security and should have worked on evangelicals. Of course, evangelicals back then were all counting on Bush to bring about Rapture so what would Bill have done if he was running then to convince those idiots he was on the same page with them like Bush did?

2. I've been marvelling at this myself
All these threats from Clinton supporters. Oy! I too was a Dean supporter and I don't remember Dean's army issuing threats or being shown any consideration whatsoever. In fact Bill Clinton decreed we were allowed to fall in love during the primaries but needed to "fall in line" for the GE.

This behavior we are currently seeing smacks of the sense of entitlement that has bothered me all along.

3. The last time something similar happened was 1988
and the push to put JEsse JAckson on the ticket as veep because he came in second.

It worked out so well for us then.

4. i think they are doing that because it was close
and they feel she won at least the popular vote.

regardless it should be up to the Presidential Candidate to pick who they want.

5. But Joe Scabro says "if you are man enough..."
"you can control the Clinton(s)..." Trying to paint Obama as "effete" - there you go Joe, since you are so tough. You macho fuckwad! I hate this misogynist bastard for the way he treats Mika, and his holier-joe than thou attitude.

I can't stand this show with him back on it. :puke:

6. LOL. Where was Joe's manliness when he almost cried after Rachel
injected reality into the discussion a few weeks ago.

14. Then why do you watch it?
Why do you give his advertisers your eyeballs?
Why do you watch any of those grafters?
Please... have some respect for your brain, and turn the TV off!

15. Well in all fairness there is a huge difference.
Clinton ran a very competitive campaign. Kerry ran the board on Dean.
