Kudos to all of the Clinton supporters here who have come out for Obama
I don't think I am allowed to mention you by name, but I want to give a big shout out to all of the Clinton supporters here who have come out for Obama in the last few days (or before that). I know it's not easy, and I am genuinely sorry for what you are going through. I was a Deaniac in 2004, so I know what it's like. We had 2 great candidates (actually, a lot of great candidates in the beginning), and it's a shame they couldn't both win. You guys should be commended for your effort, especially those of you who volunteered and/or gave money and worked as hard for Clinton as a lot of us did for Obama. I can't speak for all Obama supporters, but I can say that I for one welcome you guys with open arms, and recognize how much we need your support if we are going to win in November.

To those of you who aren't quite there yet, I understand. It probably would have taken me a while too. It took me a while to get behind Kerry in 2004. I hope you will ultimately decide to vote for and support Barack Obama, but it's your vote and your choice and I recognize that us badgering you a thousand times a day won't help. I thought about posting earlier asking how everyone was feeling, but I was afraid that as genuinely as I meant it it would come across as yet another loyalty oath. If nothing else, even if you can't bring yourselves to support Senator Obama, I hope that you will continue to be active in politics and won't become permanently disillusioned. I know that's easier said than done, because I would be pretty heartbroken and demoralized right about now if the tables were turned.

I was also a Deaniac and couldn't stand Kerry, but I became a strong supporter of Kerry and actually started liking him by November.

Hillary is a good Democrat and so are her supporters. It hurts right now, but we'll be Obama's strongest supporters by November.

11. Same here
I started out despising Kerry (mainly out of anger that I did not get my candidate, more than anything he did) but I slowly warmed up to him and by the end I even started liking him. Funny thing is, I like John Kerry a lot more now than I did when I voted for him.

2. Thank you for the welcome.
This is what we need -- unity. I plan to work as hard for Obama as I did for Hillary.

3. "...if you can't bring yourselves to support Senator Obama..."
Then you need to find another fucking board. End. Of. Story.

You have five-ish days, Hillary supporters. After that, it's get on board, or get the fuck out.

I apologize for the bluntness, but calls for unity only go so far. Someone needs to say it, and it might as well be me.

Obama won, that's that. Anyone who insinuates or insists that Hillary is superior to the WINNER after, oh, five days or so, needs to find another online community in which to air their displeasures and grievances.

To reiterate, "...if you can't bring yourselves to support Senator Obama..." then you need to get the fuck out.

:hi:

12. Thank you
I was hoping that Clinton supporters would welcome this post and not be offended by anything I said. The last thing I expected was fellow Obama supporters to piss on it. Come on, people! How many votes will statements like that win for Obama? Intimidation is not the way to win over Clinton supporters.

9. No doubt ! Hillary or Obama have little in common with McBush
I would certainly get behind either our our dem candidates or Edwards, Biden and Richardson for that matter.
