Former House Republican Leader Tom DeLay (Texas) called Barack Obama a "Marxist" on the Mike Gallagher radio show Thursday.

Explaining that Obama clinching the Democratic nomination is a good thing for John McCain, DeLay said Obama's "weakness" is that "nobody knows him."

"And if McCain does not define him as what he is — hey, I have said publicly, and I will again, that unless he proves me wrong, he is a Marxist," DeLay said.

The radio host agreed with DeLay, who is facing money laundering charges, saying Obama is "desperately trying to cover up what seems to be the kind of old school Marxist radical liberal failed ideology."

"Absolutely," DeLay said. "No doubt about it."

DeLay is inhaling the fumes from the used motor oil he smears in his hair. That "failed liberal ideology" saved this country's ass in 1933 and onward. Despite Reagan's reactionary attempt to dismantle the New Deal and Great Society, its strongest legacies still provide somewhat of a safety net.

What I would want Obama to do, is a Second New Deal. Infrastructure rebuilding from top to bottom. Healthcare for all. College education - paid. Living wages. Affordable food and necessities. Energy policies which reward renewable clean sources like wind and solar. A massive restoration and expansion of our national parks. Would this require a redistribution of wealth? Well, how the hell else can we do it? The entitled mentality of the super wealthy will cause them to howl like Rush getting his ass-boil lanced, but in the end (ha), they will still be super rich, and the rest of us might make a better life for ourselves and grandchildren.

So fuck you, DeLay, and your giant can of pomade.
