is at the top of the ratings locally for a couple of shows and the audience is building. Portland is the epicenter of the progressive thinking fighting Asscroft regarding right to die law. Now he's gotta make a date with USSC to have a chance to violate the state's rights the GOP was always yammering about.

Anyway, I'm heading back to my homeland of St. Louis and Missouri area for a vacation after a 12 year drought. I'm sure I will be shocked at all the rednecks around there supporting BushPschyco. What should I do while I'm there? Slap a Kerry bumbersticker on some Bush supporter's rig?

Wear my Kerry button? Ask people if they are nuts? I realize Missouri could go both ways, and I'd like to think Ohio and Missouri will follow along with Oregon in getting it right this year.

6. LOL
It just always cracks me up that people from Portland say they are from pdx. I have done the same, but I can't think of another city whose residents do that. :silly:

4. Portland rocks!
Having lived here for nearly ten years, I already knew that. But when I saw 50,000 converge on downtown for the Kerry rally I felt a kind of pride in this city that I've never felt before. My friend's sister was visiting (she lives in LA) and she was amazed at how polite, unified and focused the crowd was.

Living here, it's easy to forget that many places in the country have a very different atmosphere. When I visit family in Idaho, I'm always taken aback by the strange feeling that I'm the only liberal around for miles.
