Did George and Wes Clark Give Kerry a Great Opportunity???
Right after Bush made his troop realignment announcement, Wes Clark issued a statement where he called it "dangerous", "political",
"reckless", etc. I was scratching my head because Bush's statement seemed more like political suicide than political gain.

His base is big on a "strong military" and the US of A ruling the world.....I can just see the leftovers from WWII and the Korean War going nutso and thinking that if we withdraw any troops from Europe or Asia that the Nazis, the Commies, and the Koreans are gonna' rise again!!! So I think there is a perfectly great opportunity here for Kerry.

Would this not be the time for him to join in with Clark (and I'm sure Clark's statement was run through Kerry anyway), and other of the brass supporting him to keep hammering that this is just a really dangerous political stunt when we are in such a "world full of evil people ready to destroy us" (use Bush's scare tactics back at him); and also use the opportunity to suggest he's getting ready to start another war and, if he does, it would mean that he would have to be looking at the "draft", etc.??? This would be such a golden opportunity to make the military lovers start having doubts about Bush's strength. It would make mothers and fathers all over the country start getting afraid of what this guy is planning as they look at their children and fear the draft.

Also, the brass in the Pentagon have detested this administration from day one because Rummy wanted to reorganize the military and they must be going crazy over the announcement. How much support, perhaps, might be coming through back channels to Kerry if he makes this a real, big issue?? I do so hope this doesn't just fade away like everything else. This one could deal a big blow to George.

1. We have to keep the pressure on these idiots
They are destroying alliances that are needed to be successful against the terrorists networks. I am sure Kerry will come out with statements very similar to Clark's as soon as he is back on the campaign trail. Clark may be trying to lead a little on this, it has been a very important issue to him.

2. Jim--that's what I'm hoping........funny just got done reading another
post about the Unfit for Command book about Kerry that the scum have just released and is in stores. This is the perfect comback because it raises the question of just who, indeed, is unfit to command. Like I said, there have to be a lot of old vets that this doesn't sit with. I can't imagine them jumping up at the VFW hall and saying "bravo, George---man is he on the ball protecting us by removing those troops". This has to start grumblings. I so dearly want Kerry and all those vets who support him to whip up the waters and hopefully, little Napoleon will fall overboard.

3. Pay attention to Kerry's speech to the VFW tomorrow
It's just a hunch but I think you'll hear Kerry speak about it there.

A big  to Wes Clark for outing this as a political stunt. We've known for 4 years that everything, and I mean everything, this administration does is politically motivated. I think the public is just waking up to that fact and the more our folks intimate it the stronger that perception becomes.

6. unfrig--thanks for the info---I've been dying to find out when Kerry
speaks--and, by God, these vets better give him a rousing reception. This is a real vet and real hero compared to that piece of scum who addressed them Monday. AND the media damn well better give him time like they did Cheney. It will basically be up to CNN because MSNBC has Olympics on....and you know how CNN has stepped up their whoring for Bush!

4. I'm sure that Kim Jong Il guy is smiling
I think I spelled the dictator of North Korea's name correctly, but I'm sure he is smiling after that announcement thinking that his stepping up their WMD programs after * declared them as part of the 'Axis of Evil'is working beautifully.

Timeline:
North Korea - no WMD programs when Bush enters office
Bush declares them part of the Axis of Evil
NK resumes WMD programs after hearing this thinly veiled threat
Bush flip-flops on dealin with NK
After intel indicates that they may have as many as 8 nuclear weapons, Bush announces withdrawal of troops from South Korea.

Now, if I'm Kim Jong Il, I think I'm smiling ear to ear. I just got license to invade, or at least threaten, South Korea.

5. You called it
I wouldn't be surprised if he sends Bush a thank-you note for pulling troops out of South Korea.

7. NewJeff---oh baby, baby that is EXACTLY the way to play this
That would just piss the hell out of that portion of vets who support Bush over Kerry. It would also really burn Bush's behind in general in the "fit to lead" category. Beautiful.

8. I'm sensing a pattern here
1) Bush comes into office
2) Bin Laden leads attack on WTC causing loss of 3,000 lives in part because of US presence in Saudi Arabia
3) Bush announces US troop withdrawal from Saudi Arabia

More capitulation to terror?

What's next?
