How do we decrease Bush's Approval numbers?
I am getting somewhat concerned now. The latest polls do show that while Kerry leads, BUsh's approval rating is inching upward. For the most part, the economic news has been moderately good for Bush in the last week, and despite all the chaos in Iraq, the press is giving the situation very little coverage. We need to act preemptively to respond to Bush's increasing approval ratings, but I am not so certain what the best course of action is.

2. I didn't see any increase in chimp's approval numbers
Even fox shows him way down, lowest ever recorded Aug 3-4. chimp makes himself look bad, hardly any need to assist him with this.

3. Be relentless when it comes to getting the truth out there. Tell your
friends and family about how bad Bush is for America. Time to get America on the right track again and dump this dopehead for someone with a plan.

4. Just get out of the way and let him talk
he seems to be doing a fine job screwing up his popularity all by himself.

6. Don't fret
He's under 50 percent in virtually every recent poll, bad news for an incumbent. As for the numbers, CNN/Gallup is an outlier, and Zogby's figure of 47 percent is a bit higher than during the Dem convention, but that probably depressed Bush's numbers a bit.

Also, keep in mind that a Repuke pollster said there was an approval gap with Bush, meaning his share of the vote is significantly less than his approval rating.

7. Economic News Good If You Like High Unemployment
The employment numbers were HORRIBLE! And they admitted (again) that
the prior month's numbers were bogus and restated them way down.

Good for the Bush* base (the 'have-mores'), but the notion that being
thrown out of work is good for the economy may be a hard sell among
the unemployed.

8. No one said it would be easy... AND...
I'm very optimistic, but there are only 77 days, 10+ hours till Bush is Re-Defeated. We have an awful lot of work to do until then ~ Register voters, ring doorbells, talk to folks you run into. The right, especially the evangelical wing, has been really working for the last 20 or 30 years, while we (at least me) were enjoying life. Now it's our turn to make the sustained effort needed to turn this thing around.

Don't get discouraged, but don't let up either.

12. Still, I'd like to lend a helping hand...
I like the adage, "When your enemy is destroying himself, don't get in the way." But in this case I don't think an extra push toward the cliff would hurt. Some quick in-your-face responses to Bush and Cheney could be very effective. Show people that their complete argument is sophomoric name calling (eg the sensitivity thing) - This is serious stuff and all the White House can come up with are jokes, snide remarks and Swift Boat lies.

I assume, and hear things that back up my assumption, that Kerry is gearing up for after the Elephant product roll out. I guess the only thing I'm sure about is that this is going to be one hell of a campaign!

13. The Iraq situation is getting a lot of coverage on CBS and ABC
I've been watching their coverage. I don't watch CNN or FOX, but I'm sure they're not covering it as much. But fortunately, most Americans get their news from sources other than cable news.

14. BUSH'S IMAGE AS A "STRONG LEADER" MUST BE DEBUNKED
As I see it, Kerry is unlikely to win unless he can match Putsch in the poll ratings as a "strong leader."

I am working on an essay, which hopefully will accomplish that.
