How we KNOW that Bushco lied

Bush apologists will continue to tut tut at every opportunity whenever Bush LIES are mentioned. Like Tweety tonight, raging to a peace demonstrator that most of the western world believed Iraq had WMD, and what made you guys so smart? Well, here's the deal, folks. Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Powell, Condi all stated that they KNEW Saddam had WMD, chemical weapons, serin gas, and a nuclear program that was growing into a monster. Not they THOUGHT, but they KNEW. This is called LYING in my neighborhood. It's time for the Kerry campaign to take the gloves off before it's too late. These people LIED the country into a nightmare when they said they KNEW anything when the inspectors were just getting rolling. They CANNOT deny it.

What on earth does that do? Clearly they aren't of any value to Hussein - clearly he had no intent to use them - evidenced by the fact that, well, HE DIDN'T when attacked by the very people who were supposed to be his major target.

4. High hilarity with Laura Ingraham tonight

She was echoing a "report" from the Washington Times (chortle) quoting witnesses to the transport of WMD into Syria before the invasion. Hey, I know if I were about to be attacked, I'd get rid of my only means of defense ASAP. Especially if I was a vicious murdering tyrant.

7. I've often wondered about that

I mean, Bushco rattled that sabre for a loooong time. I kept thinking, well there must be plenty of surveillance or something to make sure the weapons aren't moved, because if they're there, I (if I were a murdering tyrant as you said) would use them to defend against the impending US attack, or I'd ship 'em out and be innocent of the reason for their attack.

But they kept saying they knew exactly where they were (and I kept thinking "Well for God's sake, then tell the inspectors!!")...

But since they obviously didn't know any such thing, it does remain possible that they were moved, in which case it's an even worse blunder by Bushco.

3. Welcome to DU.

Here's a terrific clue, none of the immediate neighbors were worried.

And WE weren't worried. You know why? Come on, guess. Here's another clue: missile range.

But suddenly, out of a clear blue sky (as blue as the sky on 9/11), Iraq was the Great Satan and Saddam, aging and detestable old man, was the biggest thing we had to fear.

Oh, and the last, best clue? George is a complete and total braggart/bully/coward. He WOULD never attack anyone he thought could fight back. (Did you read BushCo's postwar planning documents? They read like disaster relief, like the plan for getting Florida up and running after Charley. Not a hint that the nation wouldn't be immediately and totally pacified.)

Trouble is, the idiot didn't know that mere people could fight back. He didn't get that we could be bombed with donkey carts, as we were. You see, George hangs with a crowd that believes the darkies were happy being slaves, because they sang so much. Probably learned it from his Nazi banker grandfather.

5. And if the WMDs are found at this stage of the game, we hide them

in Iraq to prove that they had them. We have been there for over a year and they haven't been found yet. We were so convinced we did our job and rid Iraq of its evil that we have turned the country over to the Iraqi people. (Wasn't that nice of us, we gave the people what had been their's before we got there and took it away from them.)

6. Tweety also gave the GOP smear guy what for.

He was really mad that the GOP is taking Kerry's interview on Hardball out of context. Not only that, they are using it in their smear campaign. Tweety insisted that they run it all or pull it completely. Doesn't he get it? This is what they do. They go beyond spin. They distort. I wish he would wake up and see that it isn't just his stuff that they have distorted.
