Smack Kerry Down - Go Ahead
I've seen and read it all. And I am sick of it.

Go ahead. Take your best shot.

Prepare to be shot down.

This is your anti-Kerry, anti-dem chance!

Take your best shot, because I am sick of this shit.

4. Newsmax does not lie!
sometimes they twist wind curve and wander in the desert, but they NEVER lie.

Yes, I mean no. I never said that. It could happen.

Check with Katie Couric in the morning.

She knows!

5. Curious. Can you tell the difference between loving a candidate
and wanting to win so bad your gut twists every time you turn on the TV and hating your own party and candidate? If you can tell the difference, can you list the names of some people on this board who represent the latter view? I think most of the actual Kerry haters left a long time ago.

7. Well, I wish he would just answer the damn question instead of...
...answering a different one than what was asked. Bush does it too and it's so damn irritating. The press mucks up what they are actually saying enough without them playing linguistic shell games as well.

example: Kerry was asked if he would have voted to authorize war knowing what he knows now. Instead of just answering the goddam question he starts talking about how important it was BACK THEN to back up weapons inspections with an iron fist, so yes, he would still authorize war. Sorry, Mr. Kerry, the question wasn't about BACK THEN.

8. YES it was
That's when the vote took place, BACK THEN. He answered it. Same way he always has. Hold Saddam accountable to adhere to the COMPLETE disarmament process. Tell the truth, build alliances, let diplomacy and inspections work. That's what he has said for two damn years now. I really don't know what the hell some people want around here.

21. give it up
you aren't changing anyones mind. Those of us who are voting for Kerry but have not drunk the cool aid are going to drive you crazy until you accept the fact that we disagree with you on this.
Democrats don't do denial as well as republicans, you are just going to have to deal.

22. "give it up"
You have a right to support whomever you please. It would be nice, however, since Kerry is the Democrat's choice, if in the passion of your hate and vindictiveness, you would do the country, and the world a favor and try not to give the Bush camp too much fodder to use against us. I understand that they watch this forum constantly.

It will be nothing short of a miracle if we manage to win this race, and since everyone of the Democratic candidates (a fantastic group of Americans, and any one of them better qualified to lead our country than the Bush) have thrown the towel in with Kerry, I would be in hopes that their supporters would be noble enough to do the same thing without too much bitterness, bitching, and whining. This is most important election of our, at least my, lifetime. I would like to continue my trip into my senior years with some peace of mind, and that isn't going to happen with Bush in office. If you can't help, at least be kind enough to not hinder.

23. The question was, If you knew then what you know now, would you...

I support Kerry fully, and I was disappointed in his answer. I think he missed a real chance to knock Bush back a step or two. I wished he had said, "Hell no, now that I know how Bush would mishandle the situation, I would NOT have voted yes." On the other hand, that kind of an answer might have hurt us militarily. Also, the Bush camp would probably have targeted in on Kerry's being wishy washy.

As far as Bush's campaign promises, that kind of like a sandstorm, they will only last until he gets reelected, then he'll do as he damn well pleases with the country and the taxpayer money. JMO

24. Go to war???
No, that was not the question in spite of the fact that the anti-Kerry's keep trying to make that the question. The question was "would you vote to authorize war". I wish Kerry would have challenged Bush on what HE said the vote was about back in October 2002, which was not a Declaration of War but a UN process, but he didn't. In any event, disarmament is a process, not a one time inspections walk-through. Even if there were no WMD, it was still necessary to get a permanent inspections team into Iraq and a cooperative method of guaranteeing no weapons were made in the future. That's why he said he would vote for it again, to make sure that happened. He had to say he would have voted yes, that was part of holding Saddam accountable to the UN resolutions. That is where most of America was back in Oct 2002, willing to get inspectors back into Iraq and make sure there was never an opportunity for him to make WMD in the future.

25. Respect for Kerry..

I agree with you. Whether he was in Nam for four months or fourteen (I believe that's the time that Little Boy Blue O'Neill served), his life was still on the line, and he took several risk with his life in order to serve and carry out his mission.

I can't believe these people that are saying he didn't deserve his medals. What did he have to do to please these naysayers--die--lose a limb? Then would they have thought he deserved his medals? I watched a debate between Kerry and O'Neill Sunday night on C-SPAN. It was quite a program. I was proud of Kerry, and I felt that O'Neill's jealousy of Kerry was really apparent. In my opinion, that's what this entire thing is about--John O'Neill is so jealous of Kerry he has to find an outlet for that jealousy and hate. After all of these years, instead John O'Neill growing, he's still in the same spot he was when Nixon asked him to go after Kerry--which by the way, O'Neill denied later.

O'Neill missed his calling--he should have been a Republican *Honey Do*, I find his accusations against Kerry a little sick, but typical of today's Republicans.

16. You obviously don't know the meaning of censorship
Edited on Tue Aug-17-04 02:34 AM by Snoggera
maybe you know the words, but the meaning escapes you. Otherwise, you would not have that attitude.

No one asked anyone to 'fall in line.'

Read the lines, not what you think the lines say.

edit: not necessarily you. Just those that, you know..........

I've been discovering the joys of the non-campaign forums on DU, and get so caught up in them that I can't manage anything else.

I've been sneaking in to try to catch up, just not posting. I'll come over and post some more, I promise.

20. Kerry is too tall to be president.
Too damn tall.

Oh yes, and there's no difference between Kerry and Bush.

None at all.

Oh, and before I forget, Kerry wears pink tu tus.

A vivid shade of pink.

And worst of all, Kerry beat my candidate in the primaries.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

32. Kerry Has Marfan's
Kerry's elongated face shows he has Marfan's. His heart won't stand up to the stresses of the presidency. His exercise program reflects denial of the seriousness of his illness.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1178844/posts

People with Marfan's syndrome are most often unusually tall and slender, with particularly long arms, legs, and fingers in comparison with the rest of their body. People with the Marfan's syndrome typically have one or more of the following:

  • Excessive height, particularly long arms and legs, with long slender fingers and toes
  • Nearsightedness (myopia) and retinal detachment
  • Indented or protruding breastbone
  • Curvature of the spine (scoliosis)
  • Mitral valve prolapse
  • Aortic toot dilation with aortic regurgitation or aortic dissection

http://www.kron4.com/global/story.asp?s=1230767

Watch out for that Aortic toot dilation. Most people who have it don't know it.
