Clinton won't concede, says she's "willing" to consider VP...
Edited on Wed Jun-04-08 05:27 AM by npincus
excuse me, did Obama ASK her? I didn't hear that, did you? She may consider IF and WHEN she is asked.

With the same chutzpah that she suggested Obama be her VP s few months ago, when she was BEHIND him... we shouldn't be talking about HER today... it's Obama's day and absolutely ungracious and indecent of her. I truly hope Obama does not ask... how could Obama govern surrounded by all that drama?

Congratulations, Barack!!!!

2. The only way Clinton could have been considered for VP is if she had
herself run a clean campaign and refrained from personal/underhanded/soundbite attacks against her Dem opponents. The fact that she ran a nasty Pub campaign against fellow Dems makes her ineligible. I doubt Obama will even consider her. I wouldn't. It wouldn't fit in with my moral standards.

14. I wouldn't have had a problem with her being VP
BEFORE SHE SHOWED HER ASS

She just keeps on reminding us that she uses the republican play book and how many close ties she has to them and the big business. I don't trust her anymore and her bullshit has knocked Bill down several notches as well.

4. I Really Think Hillary Thinks That This Is Just Politics......
I give her the benefit of the doubt that she is just playing the game like they do in Washington. Scream against each other on the Senate floor and later all go out to lunch. I think what's really surprising and frustrating her, and everyone else, is that Obama doesn't want to play those Washington games. His refreshing approach is truly appealing to the people, yet being Pooh-poohed by the Insiders. What Hillary needs to learn is the message of "Change" and get behind it. She's been around a long time........perhaps too long for this new concept.

5. Taking the VP slot would be a very bad move for Clinton. She
would end up being a footnote. She should do what Ted Kennedy did after he lost the nomination fight and make herself a power in the Senate.

6. I mainly blame the media for this poop story
the media are totally obsessed with the 'dream ticket' story. They love it and Clinton backers in the political world like it now that their candidate can't be #1.
It's just talk.

11. NPR was on a roll this morning.
They gave their Republican talking head about three
times as much airtime as their Democratic talking head
and then gave the Republican the last word as he described
how we were sure to lose in the fall.

And they gave Hillary about three times the air time
(and far better acoustics and far more cheering included)
than they gave Obama.

It's just like in 2006 when they gave all the airtime
to the loser Republicans and very little to the winning
Democrats.

22. Kenneth Tomlinson's minions march onward
All of their shows have suffered because of his minions mucking about with all the content choices on the flagship shows. Here is a wikipedia excerpt on his days in charge of Voice of America:
from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenneth_Tomlinson
President Reagan nominated Tomlinson to be his fourth Director of the Voice of America (VOA), where he served through August 1984.<4> Some of the Reagan Administration's innovations for the Voice, such as the advent of editorials extolling Administration policy, stirred opposition and fears that the broadcasts could be seen as propaganda.<4>

"Someone complained that your editorials sound just like Ronald Reagan," Mr. Tomlinson said, "and I said you're darn right and I'm proud of it. The editorials should reflect the viewpoint of the party in power."<4>

From the same page on his tenure in charge of Corporation for Public Broadcasting:

Tomlinson was appointed as chairman of the CPB board by President George W. Bush, for a two-year term, in September 2003. He embarked upon a mission to purge CPB of what he perceived as "liberal bias."

16. Clinton is leading on the media in this march very well
She has set the table up for this in the way she ran her campaign and the way she didn't end it last night.

7. Hillary Clinton on the ticket is the last thing
anybody needs. Hasn't eight years of selfish, self-absorbed people in the White House been enough?

8. Barack ran a beautiful campaign - if he chucked it all now...
...to put Kitchen Sink Clinton on the ticket I'd be both surprised and disgusted.

9. Clinton has way too much baggage to be considered
and I'm not just talking about the hatred she receives from the Right, which was not deserved. I'm talking about the way she has handled her campaign. As it went on and on, more and more folks I talked to said they were becoming more and more turned off. I believe she would cost the Democrats more votes than they would gain having her on the ticket. Obama should consider getting someone who is relatively unknown to the general public, but who has solid credentials and is courageous enough to go after the GOP the way Obama has done.

15. Why is it OK for Clinton to hold Obama and the party hostage?
Edited on Wed Jun-04-08 07:39 AM by high density
Yeah she got a lot of votes, but so did Gore and Kerry. She is doing nothing but stirring up anger on both sides.

She should be run out of the party if she doesn't settle this today.
