14. I WROTE O'REILLY THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE
I sent him the following message. I don't know if he is reacting to me or not, but he's definitely reacting.

Of Course, his position may be temporary. But at least someone shook up the bastard.

I recommend that everyone write TV stations and submit letters to the editor. We will be heard. Otherwise Kerry's message will never get to the voters. Try this link: http://congress.org/congressorg/dbq/media/

Also, about one hour ago I got a personal reply from a lady who is an executive with one of the FOX affiliates saying that we are 100% right!!!!!!

BIASED NEWS MEDIA SUFFOCATING DEMOCRACY

It is evident that the traditional respected roles of the reporter and news services are dead. Out of the ashes of the golden age of journalism, an anemic albatross rather than a phoenix has risen.

Empowered yet impotent, rabbity reporters repeatedly fail to challenge and expose the duplicities of ALL our political leaders. When Bush split his crotch on Kerry’s war record, no one seemed to notice. An objective examination of the Bush blabbers shows 2-5 times more flips than Kerry, plus a long list of unkept promises and policy flops costing American lives and wasting billions of dollars.

The media perpetuate the flip flop myths, and conveniently forget that while Kerry was fighting, George aWol Bush was hiding. They also vastly underreport the tens of thousands flocking to the Kerry-Edwards banner, while Bush hides in military enclaves with "invited guests."

The only difference between Kerry's Vietnam views and the majority of America is that he was smart enough to change sooner than most, and brave enough to do it publicly. Veterans who can't deal with Kerry's war record are classic examples of how the system has failed these heroes who clearly are unable to overcome their emotional scars. Their support of Bush, a cowardly double-talker who violated military law, and who has consistently failed to support them, is a circular firing squad of patriots putting emotion before common sense.

I submit that there is another candidate in this race, the media, who are in fact running as a “parasitic appendage” kissing up to Bush in the manner of John McCain. Failure of a majority of the media to condemn Bush's unprecedented campaign of character assassination and negativity is absolutely shameful. Junk Journalism has resulted in the loss of journalistic integrity, a violation of the public trust, and suffocation of democracy.

I am a veteran of two branches of the service, and a gun owner. What is notable is not my Doctorate in Political Science, or my Medical Degree, but the fact that I am old enough to remember when reporters and news services were a class act: They were aggressive, incisive, and fair instead of apologetic court jesters and palace eunuchs

10. Yeah, shaking Kerry's hand with one hand
while slipping the dagger into his side with the other.

Why anyone pays any attention to that blowhard O'Reilly is beyond me.

5. Couldn't not get in that dig at Moore, could he...
Yeah, I'm sure Wes Clark not "disowning" Moore's comments were really what did him in.

6. Yeah, but he's still nuts.
Remember, Gen. Wesley Clark was knocked out of the presidential sweepstakes when he would not disown Michael Moore's insane remark that President Bush was a "deserter." Bush received an honorable discharge from the National Guard.

7. A couple of paragraphs, please?
These days it's not save to click on a link just cause somebody says so. A couple of paragraphs indicating the gist of the article would help make your case.

11. How quaint.
O'Reilly's only redeeming quality in my eyes is that he's not a movement conservative like Limbaugh or Hannity is. It's not much of a quality, though. I'll give him credit for calling this Swift Vets crap for what it is, but O'Reilly's still a dong.

13. O'Reilly is an anti-liberal
And that makes him a good barometer.

He has this gut hatred for anyone outside his tribe, and whoever talks about rights of minorities and crap like that--rather than having anything like a coherent political position.

You just know he gets tears in his eyes watching the Sands of Iwo Jima.

And in O'Reilly's universe, smearing someone's war record is something you just don't do.

There are millions like him out there.

Despite the rage at the Swift Boaters smears, the long-term efffects are at work--for Kerry.
