Can we please lay off Hillary for the time being?
Seriously, some of you people are making me ashamed to be an Obama supporter. I wish she'd have conceded tonight, but she didn't. There are mixed signals, but it seems the consensus is she'll pull out tomorrow or the next day or so. That's soon enough. In the meantime, is it really the smartest thing to do to trash her repeatedly, further hardening the feelings of voters Obama needs to win in November? How exactly are you helping your candidate here?

I hope the Hillary people at DU understand that this is just another anonymous internet forum, and that it is simply not fair to attribute the words of everyone who supports a candidate to that candidate. Obama has conducted himself with grace and decency, and that shouldn't be forgotten just because some jerks on the internets pissed you off.

1. yeah, Dan Abrams and company are doing a good enough job of bashing
her right now anyway. Tune in to his "detached" comment....

Til then, all bets are off.

HEll, in TEN MINUTES, no one gives a shit. And if you REALLY DO give a shit, and you're an adult, you'll accept reality.

6. Do you understand what happened today, and why we're so
disappointed by Clinton? The Dem party has been cow-towing to her for months, and she just continued it.

IMO, she sucks.

8. I'm not too happy with her either.
I think she should have dropped out a while ago, but clearly she won't be rushed. I just think that the constant raging attacks are detrimental to Obama in the long run, and are just kind of un-classy.

She is going to quit, and when she does, we don't want to have done so much damage that we can't bring her voters in. I, for one, want to win this thing.

7. Let them gloat. Tomorrow they should be over it.
The focus shouldn't be on Obama or Clinton right now. Right now we need to focus to make sure our nominee makes it through and make sure we aren't caught off guard by GOP strategies. I'm starting to think there is something serious going on here and I think we neeed to see how the enemy is so we can focus on us as a people in this suffering nation.

9. I want to lay off .... I really do but her speech tonight was so classless
She did not win the popular vote ... she is spreading a lie that makes some
people think she won "it" but was robbed by the sexist power structure.

She failed to admit that she had lost and Barack had won when she had the
spotlight.

I so wanted to make nice and move on but she was introduced as "the next
President of the United States."

So now she is like a cockroach that needs stomped.

11. Her speech was much more than her not conceding...
...it was a shameful, self-aggrandizing, untruthful continuation of her dirty little campaign.

It was also a direct refusal to honor her promise to support the Democratic nominee.

It is a security blanket for many, apparently. The "We hate the Clintons" threads havent even slowed down today. They are hellbent on driving away, permenantly, any of Hillarys supporters that have trickled back to support Obama. Without Hillary's supporters, Obama will lose.

AND:

I don't give a shit about anyone who refuses to vote for Obama in November.

No one needs to kiss your little asses. There's been plenty of vituperation to go around, so suck it up, pull up your pantsuit and lets get it on with McCain....

Or go someplace else.

all she'd be doing by persisting in her petulance beyond Friday is an openly deliberate crusade to hurt Obama's

33. Why don't you include them in your criticism of Obama supporters?
Instead of pampering them and telling them to ignore all the bad Obama supporters why don't you point out that it takes two to fight and a little grace on their part and their candidate would go a long way.

36. Because we won.
It's a moot point after today. Of course they've been just as bad, maybe worse. It just doesn't matter anymore, and if I have to be the bigger person, then that's what I'll do. The election is more important than my personal grievances.

27. You do understand...
we have a presumptive nominee now. The last of the primaries is done, and in a historic first, I think, the final state put Obama over the top. A flood of SD's have endorsed him and by morning he is off to the races. All of this was predictable by anyone reading or following any news source.

Tonight McCain gave the lamest ever victory speech by a repug.

Tonight Obama gave one of his best speeches ever, rallying the party behind him as the presumptive nominee.

And what did Hillary do? What might she have done? How has she behaved as a candidate and a party leader? WTF...I have defended her plenty during this campaign, avoided criticism as much as possible, alerted dozens if not hundreds of times on obnoxious remarks and posts, but at this point she is off the chart, finished. What she has left is damage control, and I doubt she will handle that any better than she has handled the campaign. Her little sideshow may not end, but its no longer relevant.

44. Clinton is playing a very dangerous game that may well result
in the election of McCain. We don't need to give her any breaks. We need to get her off the public
stage as soon as possible. Nader influenced the outcome in 2000 with a lot less fire power than Clinton has.

No one can stop her from running as an independent but she could be stopped from claiming to be a Democrat.
