I'm 62 years old and a veteran of many campaigns. I thank God
I have lived long enough to see my Party nominate an African American for President of the United States. I would have been as happy to see the first woman secure the nomination. My father taught me that race, gender and ethnicity were not the bases to choose your friends or your leaders. And now with either Hillary or Barack old predjuduces and biases against people of color or women have been obliterated by their intelligence and strength displayed in this campaign.
Barack's speech was not only historic, but brilliant and exciting as well. I go to bed very content tonight. And I will awake with renewed commitment to electing the most inspirational leader since RFK. GOBAMA. I only wish my Dad was here to participate in this crusade to return our beloved country to its core values.

31. And I happen to know that you have a son who must be beside
himself with joy this evening.

Sometimes we who have lost a lot have to focus on what we still have to celebrate the day. And you have your son.

It's a wonderful, historic evening for us all. Thinking of Barack's humble beginnings, I believe the people of America have needed an African-American President for a long time now, one who could sympathize with the plight we are in today. Tonight is the night that realized that and acted upon it.

Sam

8. My father went on last December...
He really wanted to hold on long enough to see Barack take the nomination. We were talking about it only a couple of days before he died. In some versions of what comes after, maybe your dad and mine are slapping each other on the back and laughing.

Namaste

22.  I hope so. My thoughts are with you. My Dad died in 1983 and
I think of him more now than I ever. They never leave us. My Dad would be enjoying the scene tonight while sipping a Bud and grinning , how about yours ?

14. And let me add that the first African American with all the stuff to be leader
of the free world is a proud, unapologetic member of our party. It would have killed me if the Pukes had nominated Powell before we got around to putting someone like Obama forward. I feel a sense of history being made this year, and it will serve us well.
