Clinton supporters angry at the responses she got in this forum
Please, try to leave your partisanship aside for a moment, and consider this scenario for a second. Imagine for a moment that Hilalry Clinton had today recieved 2118 delegates, sealed the deal, and become the Democratic nominee. Imagine if it was your side that had just won the primary.

-And that Obama came up and made a speech, introduced as the new president of the USA.
-Never congratulated Hillary for winning.
-Talking about how HIS voters have to be heard and their demands fulfilled.
-And talking about not having DECIDED what he will do now, and that he will 'still' be thinking about his future actions. Implying he has to 'consider' if he'll 'accept' her victory.

How would you feel?

For all your righteous hatred of Obama for his 'treatment' of Hillary (even though he is always gracious to her), he has never trated her as she treats him, and if the roles were reversed you'd be crying for his head and you know it.

Why are you angry about our behavior? Can you truly be honest with yourselves and say that in the reverse situation you'd not be reacting exactly the same?

At least here its only us insulting her, not Obama himself. Clinton has basically spat on his face herself.

You're the kind of Hilary supporter people are talking about all the time.

And you need to build up your self-esteem if you allow anonymous internet posts to get your panties in such a wad.

And you support someone who... well you know, I'm not going to say it, you know what she's done. What does that say about you?

There are SOME folks on both sides who fit that, but not the majority of them.

Why don't you just answer the question? Leave the partisanship aside for a second, and imagine the reverse situation for example, where she has just won, and Obama does not recognise her, talks about HIS supporters having to have their wishes fulfilled, and having to 'decide' about how he will act now- as if accepting the result is an OPTION!

48. They have absolutely *NO* right to be upset - they've flung most of the shit.

The description of but one small incident will suffice:

One of the more well-known HRC boosters here posted a blatant lie about me in one of her posts. I posted irrefutable proof that her claim was untrue, five different times. She ignored this, and continued to blithely post the same falsehood. I put her on *ignore*.

Now, I belong to another board, a strictly pro-Obama board, and several members there, who have my "real world" e-mail address, lurk at DU because they enjoy the latest breaking news, the pro-Obama posts, etc. One of them e-mails me the other night and tells me claims - untrue claims - are being made about me by my *ignored* poster in a thread I was participating in.

This person e-mailed me the gist of these claims, to wit, that I had received a "mod warning" for posting to her, and was only pretending to have her on *ignore*, was a "sick fuck" and was "stalking" her. Every single bit of which was untrue - and, what's further, the poster in question had to know that her claims were untrue. She just didn't care: there was a debate to "win" on the internet, you see ( ).

Had that kind person at the other board I frequent not known both my "real world" e-mail address and DU identity, and had she not just *happened* to be lurking at DU, specifically GD: P, these claims would have stood un-refuted, and hundreds of DU'ers and outside lurkers would right now believe a patent falsehood about me (several falsehoods, in fact).*

That small tale sums up the tactics of the overall HRC campaign writ large, and it really turns decent people off.

(*edited repost)

51. Man
I remember when all the candidate selection just started. I remember thinking that no matter who won, we were all damned lucky. We had a stable of good democrats to choose from.

Although I supported Hillary first, I feel happy that Obama won. I'm glad my candidate lost to someone I would be behind if she hadn't been in the running. That's just the truth of it. How could any of us be so upset when our second choices were so good? Not that I don't find Hillary Clinton's actions tonight shameful, but I can kind of understand, considering she has almost no chance to ever be pres now.

Anyway, I'll be happy to vote for Obama. You all should be. Even Republicans don't want McCain in. All the mad people need a rant thread or something to go to and work it out.

59. There are supporters and then there are "supporters"
We fail if we don't differentiate between passionate sincere supporters and Operation Chaos freaks.

Both Obama and Clinton are big boys and this was a fight. So she hit below the belt a few times, big deal, the Presidency is one of those to-the-death gladiator matches. I don't like it and I'm as livid as any other Obama supporter but in a game (politics) where all's fair, who are we to blame Hillary for using every weapon in her arsenal?

I loathe her politically but I don't think she ran her campaign that much differently than many other politicians. We're just more aware of things because of the internet and Hillary failed to adapt to that. Bill's sorry outbursts are a different story and he should be ashamed. If it hadn't been for him (thankfully), I think Hillary would be the one receiving the nomination tonight.

Just my 2 cents as a firm, passionate Obama supporter.

62. most of the remaining hillary supporters are the ones that say theyd vote mccain if hillary loses.
this defies all logic. of course they cant consider your scenario... theyre so consumed by their love of the candidate, not what she stands for, that they see it appropriate to vote for the opposite party, against their own interests out of spite. completely driven by irrational emotions. its pathetic. lol.

67. That's not true. Many of the virulent posters appear on GD/P, but plenty just
cruise the board without posting. Several came out today, very visibly, in support of Obama.

Most Hillary supporters here have said repeatedly they will support the nominee.

I am one of them.
