13. Baum lived in my hometown I grew up in when he was in his 20's and

I have been researching things to write a book on him about those days there. He used a lot of what was around him as influence (like his niece was Dorothy Gale --actually Gage) and I believe that some of the places in Oz may have come from his recollection of those places in his early years. It is just a theory, but one I want to pursue since no one has ever approached it from that perspective. But, although I have the research done, I have yet to find the time to sit down and start putting it all together in words. Too much writing on DU, I presume.....Someday, though...

14. Okay now listen to me young lady .... :) ... whatever your age is .....
you need to get busy and start writing that book. I'll be the first to buy it ...... beyond intriguing for people like me .. (big Oz fan) ....... Anyway my own mother wrote a book, took her bout 20 years to finally complete it ..... but she got it done. .... Remember someday never comes ... or you can just sit down at your computer one morning and get on it ... do and re-do whatever it takes. It will be fun !!!! A project ..... our primary season is over ..... use your computer time wisely ..... hell I'll say anything at this point to get you going on this book, start it !!! It will flow from there .... !!! :)

15. thanks. Hubby is retiring this summer so once he takes over the
housework, I have NO EXCUSE. That has been our plan all along.

And, I will give you the first copy and autograph it, too....

Spoiler alert....Working title...."Will the Real L. Frank Baum Please Stand Up?" I am going to model it after the game show, "To Tell the Truth" and have three working theories on what Baum was writing about....one of them being what I just described.

BTW, have you ever heard the political allegory? It is kinda neat and disproved but none the less interesting and who knows, possibly true in the end.

16. Autograph it ... but I'll buy it from you okay !!!! :) ....... Deal .... and
just skimming over the link on your last response .....

Emerald City: = Washington, D.C.
Emerald Palace: = The White House

That was Hillary's Goal !!! :wow:
And ....

The Munchkins are the little people—ordinary citizens. This 1897 Judge cartoon shows famous politicians as little people after they were on the losing side in the election ...

Above in my OP I presented us as the little people (munchkins) who rejected Hillary (Dorthy) and told her to go home ...... :)

Yeah I've alway heard you could learn everything (well just about) you want to know in life from 'The Wizard of Oz' so to speak .... it is magical in that way ..... isn't it? Fun conversation with you tonight ruby slippers !!! Keep in touch and let me know how that book is coming along you hear !!! Peace and always a freind Mar (doublethink)
