If Hillary wants the VP spot, she will get it.
The Democratic Party is bigger than Barack Obama. And Michelle's opinion matters none.

If party leaders decide that Hillary should be VP, then, if Obama is smart, he'll accept Hillary Clinton on the ticket.

If the party is to be healed, then Clinton WILL be Obama's VP candidate.

He has shown exceptional judgment thus far in his life and his career, his political career and his campaign and therefore, I have confidence that he will make the best decision for the party and for the nation.

They're both smart. They're both politicians. People here take every offense personally - more personally than the candidates themselves do.

If the numbers show it's the winning combo (and I think they will), then they'll do it.

I think 1) it's a big risk to have an AA nominee, and even more so to have an AA and a woman, right now. 2) I think her statements against him (i.e. McCain being more qualified than Obama) will be replayed endlessly by the GOP during the GE campaign.

That's just how I feel.

It would be an enormous failure of leadership on his part, and would make him look weak for the GE. If the party forces this on Obama, I will wash my hands of it. If the party is to be healed, Hillary has to accept that she's not entitled, and doesn't get to have everything she wants.

29. The race is a statistical tie. Half the Democratic voters want her
more, if you consider that she did better in closed primaries.

The job should be hers if she wants it, and I hope she does want it. It would be a formidable ticket and if McCain picks Condi as a running mate, I would pay money to watch Hillary take on Condi in a debate. In fact, I'd like to see her debate Huckabee and/or Romney, too. Heck, I'd like to see her take on all three of them at once. She'd make mincemeat of any of them.

The Vice Presidential nominee will be exactly who he wants it to be, and nobody else. If Clinton was so interested in unity, she wouldn't have acted like such an ass to Obama.

When she said McCain was more qualified to be president than Obama, she lost her chance at the VP.

I know you love her Maddy, but Hillary will only be in the White House as a visitor from now on.

39. That remains to be seen
you can say that your perception of their interests suggest that to you but to say "WILL"(at least by my interpretation of the english language_ can be interpreted as meaning that there is no other possibility occurring if she "wants" the slot. If you have sufficient criteria to eliminate all of other altenatives as proof I'm open to hearing it, because I doubt (and hope) that you aren't making that claim a priori, but from your second sentence it seems to suggest that you are not. The level and degree of healing sufficient to win the G.E. with or without her on the ticket also remains to be seen.

(To quote "Damn Yankees".)

Why does the Party and Obama have to acquiesce to Clinton for healing?

Do you not think that healing could rest upon Hillary to congratulate Obama and move on as all the other candidates in both parties have done?

Is it only because she wants it?

Why must it always be about Hillary and not about Obama?

She is the one constantly stirring the pot of division, not Obama.

I no longer recognize the woman I once admired, and would like those feelings to return. That is up to her, I guess.
