8. She looks great. I love the cut of the dress, I would have liked it
Edited on Tue Jun-03-08 06:56 PM by LibraLiz1973
a tad more if they had "matched". Since Presidential Candidates tend to gravitate toward red or blue (in their tie choices), perhaps a black, red or blue (maybe even periwinkle) dress would have been a better match to him.

That said, it is an AWESOME dress and she looks fantastic.

30. That color's called "win."
Please adjust your monitors' RGB settings accordingly. For any still using the automatically-selected Bush theme, this new shade will appear uncomfortably bright. The new setting will take effect when you next restart.

34. Yes, "fuchsia" or "deep fuchsia" (w/variant spelling common)
Edited on Wed Jun-04-08 05:52 PM by eppur_se_muova

Fuchsia according to Crayola: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Crayola_crayon_colors

Web color deep fuchsia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuchsia_(color)#Deep_Fuchsia

Fuchsia is a genus of plant whose flowers are most commonly bright pink to purple. Named after the botanist Leonhart Fuchs, it has been called "the most carefully spelled flower in the world". And yes, Fuchs is pronounced like "Fewks", so it's "fewksia" not "fewsha".

9. I would agree but....
It's such a vibrant color that it kind of makes his suit look dull and boring. Maybe if he had a brighter tie :D

11. That is basically what I was trying to say up-thread
Her dress is so great that his suit just sort of hangs there.

Ah well... his wife is lovely, I am sure he is used to it.

19. Actually, I think they coordinated the dress and tie pretty carefully--note that
they are in the same cool blue-purple color family. A red or green tie would have clashed, stripes would have been too much, pale blue or silver would have looked too washed out. His only other option would have been a navy tie, I suppose. I am devoting way too much thought on this, I realize.

but my Mom loves nice clothes and she is already looking forward to seeing what gown Michelle wears to the Inaugural Ball!
