Clinton supporters: quick question for you.
I'm not trying to start any flame war, I'm trying to make a simple point:

If Sen. Clinton were securing the Democratic nomination this evening instead of Sen. Obama, what would you say to/be your attitude toward Obama's supporters regarding their support of and vote for Clinton in November?

3. I would be classy enough to wait to ask
The utter gracelessness of Obama supporters on this website is a total turnoff and surely doesn't represent him well.

Graceless and classless indeed.

15. I just got done counting those threads on the front page
there was one, one single solitary thread and that was quoting someone else and didn't show any signs of agreeing in the OP. There are about 12 showing hate toward Clinton or her supporters.

Yes, it's a rhetorical question.

I haven't seen any of your posts in weeks, but tonight it's level 2.

Prior to that, too fucking many.

23. back it up pal
I am sick of Obama supporters being all talk and no evidence. There are literally dozens of posts tonight that are gracless and that is the adjective I used. So again, either provide the quotes or shut up.

It's time to move on. After tonight you'll be invisible to me. If you come around, you won't be.

Bye. :hi:

4. I wouldn't say anything- I would just celebrate
Edited on Tue Jun-03-08 06:49 PM by Marrah_G
Acting like a bunch of assholish thugs does nothing to help the party tonight.

Instead of celebrating many here are far more interested in calling for Clinton's head on a platter.

It makes it extremely difficult to be happy for you all and to congratulate his supporters on a hard-fought win.

On a night you should all be celebrating instead.

I know EXACTLY where I am pointing my fingers.

6. You fought a good fight. You believe in what you fought
your campaign brought up the best that is in our country. You showed that our party is blessed with having both a woman and a black can reach to the highest job in the world.

Now we need to unite and combine the best of both campaigns and supporters to take over the White House and Congress. The future of our country is at stake.

Senator Obama is young. No doubt, we will have a chance to learn more about him, and when he decides to run again, we will be right behind him.

Now, please, let's join hands together. Let's not look back at the hurtful things that we hurled at each other let's look forward to win in November.

(This is what I am hoping to hear from the Obama supporters. Instead my proposals have been met with a practical demand to cower and to grovel. People here do not understand that the magnanimous, generous winner is the first to offer his hand. This is also what we did with Germany and Japan after WWII).

12. Well said - wish I could recommend your post!
I have no interest in anything but moving forward and winning in November. Yes, we've all battled back and forth but now is the time for that to STOP. We MUST win in November. I was hoping I'd see a post like this - I was just bothered by seeing several "I'll never support him" threads here the minute I got on DU today. And, I understand that nerves are tight and it's disappointing when your candidate doesn't get the nomination - believe me, I've certainly been there before, more than once! But, we must focus now on what's important: taking back the White House and taking back the country.

perhaps a bit in your face but I am shocked by the continuing attacks on Clinton. I expect the winners to be generous and I could not believe the reactions.

And, really, we Clinton supporters should be allowed to mourn, to go through the four (or is it five?) stages of mourning: anger, denial, etc.

We should be just left alone.

11. I did not support either one, but I say,
If the situation was reversed, I'd think Senator Clinton would be INSANE not to choose him as VP.
They both posted HUGE numbers that need to be respected.
Again, that is my 2 cents..

18. I'd say that Obama should be her VP...
A unity ticket is the surest way to win. I wouldn't thrash the Obama supporters either. It does not help my candidate of choice by tearing down the opponent. I'd hope that all Dems get behind the nominee no matter who it is.

24. I would never have been anything but kind to them
if Hillary would have appeared to be winning. I would have wanted my candidate to win, so I would have been wooing Obama supporters every chance I got. It has always amazed me that they seem oblivious to such an obvious rule of politics.

26. disclaimer:
I am not a supporter of HRC OR Obama. I never have been.

I currently feel some empathy for Clinton supporters, and resentful of Obama supporters.

If the situation were reversed, I would feel empathy for Obama supporters, and resentful of Clinton supporters.
