Period. It's a simple as that.

I know that I'm preaching to the choir here as most DUers have come around to see the light, but it's just not that complicated. If John McCain becomes President because of bitter, angry Clinton supporters, her legacy becomes inextricably linked to the destruction of one of the pillars of womens' rights. That's no way to honor her.

7. Agreed. Anyone who votes McCain because Clinton didn't get the nomination is NOT a feminist
but rather someone who has more anger than progressive ideals and clear sight.

8. Yep.
My guess is that the only people who are really serious about voting McCain are Republicans. Some of those Republicans may have been posing (here and on the teevee) as Democrats/Hillary supporters, but their fake "concern" about Obama always smelled fishy to me. The few who may be genuine are either just venting a bit of spleen or trying to use their votes as some sort of leverage, perhaps in a last desperate attempt to get Hillary on the ticket.

9. I can't imagine that there are enough
"bitter, angry Clinton supporters" who will actually vote for McCain. At least not enough to make a difference in the outcome of the election.

11. It's really a shame that Hillary didn't give this more thought before
telling the world that McCain had passed her CiC test. I wonder why her little CiC test didn't have any questions about Roe and the USSC on it.

13. Last night, I watched "It's Your Call" on CN8.
Edited on Tue Jun-03-08 11:50 AM by bumblebee1
It was a discussion about races to watch other than Clinton vs Obama. One guest was Rep. Rob Andrews (D) of NJ. He's running in the Senate race to unseat Sen. Frank Lautenberg. One of the discussions was whether Sen Lautenberg was too old to be re-elected. Sen Lautenberg is 84; he'll be 90 when this term ends. Heck, Strom Thurmond was 100 when his last term ended. Unfortunately, he died shortly afterwards. Since this is a NJ race, all the callers were from Jersey.

One of the callers was a woman who said that she and her friends were voting for McCain this November. I said to myself, "So, you want to screw yourselves? Women's rights were great for you and your friends. They're not good enough for your daughters, nieces, granddaughters and great granddaughters, eh?"

I would love to see a woman elected as President. I remember talking with my brother-in-law about the possibility of Hillary Clinton as President. I told him, "We'll probably see a black President before we see a woman President. The people in this country don't have the cojones to put a woman in the highest office in the land."
