Officials: Clinton will concede delegate race to Obama
By BETH FOUHY, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - Hillary Rodham Clinton will concede Tuesday night that Barack Obama has the delegates to secure the Democratic nomination, campaign officials said, effectively ending her bid to be the nation's first female president.

The former first lady will stop short of formally suspending or ending her race in her speech in New York City. She will pledge to continue to speak out on issues like health care. But for all intents and purposes, the two senior officials said, the campaign is over.

Most campaign staff will be let go and will be paid through June 15, said the officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to divulge her plans.

3. For the first time, we might see her acknowledge a win
But I'm not holding my breath.

8. That is NOT what the headlines say. It just acknowledges that he has the delegates now
Her campaign has made it very clear throughout that SD can change their minds

and though I think that it would be foolish for them to release such a statement, and then continue to pursue the fight, it would not surprise me

Right now ARG has her 25 points up in South Dakota. I don't believe that poll, but I do believe it will be close

I don't think this is over

6. I agree. The phrasing is too 'lawyerly.'
Gotta come right out and say it, Hil.

7. So I'm sure that starts the VP campaign
And the media will be very happy to oblige and say it's a great idea, even though she's about the most anti-change Democrat one could imagine. She ran on the "let's go back to the great 1990s" platform.
