I want to apologize for being a jerk in here lately
I'm wrestling with some personal crap right now, I'm wiped out from a long week, and sleep has been hard to come by. I let my bad mood infest some posts here - particularly aimed at DUers who are woried about the Kerry campaign. I'm sorry for it.

9. Don't worry Will Pitt!
I did the same thing myself. By the time I made the mistake, it was too late to go back and edit the post. :(

I tried to explain my situation to no avail. I had major surgery about 4 weeks before I made this GRAVE ERROR and had lots and lots of drugs still in my system. I'm having more serious health problems now again and I will not be posting given it looks like another surgery all too soon. I do not want this to happen again and I am very embarrassed because of it. I know how you feel, sh*t happens in life and sometimes it just comes out wrong. :(

Just be glad they didn't suspend you (not that they ever would). We all make mistakes for reasons that can be highly personal but at times it just comes out wrong.

During times like this now, I avoid posting anything. I still feel bad about it even though it was several months ago because mistakes can and do happen. *sigh*

Hang in there Will. I still :loveya: ... :D We all make mistakes when under duress and in times of personal struggles. You are a very talented individual and whatever you wrote, I did not read it, but I forgive you if it bothers you as I am sure others do and will. :D

>had major surgery about 4 weeks before I made this GRAVE ERROR and >had lots and lots of drugs still in my system. I'm having more >serious health problems now again and I will not be posting given >it looks like another surgery all too soon.

I tend not to think things through when I'm in pain. Pain makes a person focus inward. Stress can do the same thing. And remember, we're discussing POLITICS here. It's one of the BIG topics, hard to discuss without getting worked up.

Cheers, all.

baldearg, I hope you feel better soon. Pain sucks ass.

I just left smoggy L.A. for a week with a friend in the VA woods.
It's raining. I saw three deer. And I learned that if you approach cows in a field, they will run away. But if you lie down, they will get curious, make their way over to you and even start licking you. Life is amazing. Keep cool. Good luck with your problems.

I should do the same if I regain my health. You can become totally overwhelmed in this day and age with all of this crap going on.

The crap is inexcusable. I feel the way some of us respond, given our circumstances in life can change from one day to the next.

Hawaii is looking very good to me right now. I'd recommend a trip to the Islands. :D

16. henslee it is a living nightmare
I don't want to get into the details but good god, I'm really upset about it. It isn't getting any better at all - rather hopeless to be honest with you.

And yeah, I blew it posting something during a psycho moment. It happens to the best of us. Too bad I didn't realize it until after it was too late to change it (was too busy replying to one of Mari333's posts re: Iraq and her son).

I'm trying really hard to get well. Lets hope that if god is willing I will get better.

It is very stressful trying to live in such a compromised way to say the least and then when you screw up on top of it, it really makes you feel like a worthless pile of sh*t.

Thanks for your well wishes. I should know a lot more in a few weeks and no, I won't be posting if it comes down to another hospitalization/surgery because I have no idea what I might post in error or during yet another psycho moment which is possible.

At least I am back now anyway, that is the good part! :D

18. You have nothing to apologize for, Mr. Pitt.
I haven't followed all of your posts here, so I may be missing something you said that offended people, but I generally agree with everything you write.

I'm not happy about Kerry's BS statements about Iraq and the IWR. And it worries me that Karl Rove seems to have Kerry eating out of his hand right now as a result.

But I'm more worried about those Diebold type machines, because if every vote really counted, I still think Kerry, despite his disgusting spinelessness about Iraq, would defeat Bush in a landslide. Registration/voter fraud by misuse of those machines is the biggest threat to sending the Bushistas packing.

24. Thanks, I was beginning to wonder about you. I have come to respect
you immensely, but was a bit put off by some of your posts lately. I have seen on other boards where somebody becomes highly regarded by the others on the board, and then that person uses his status to bully the others and use an "I'm an authority and you're not" kind of argument. It's good to hear from the real Will Pitt. And nothing of the last few days can compare at all to what went on at DU during the primaries.

Thanks for all your hard work, and I do hope you're asleep by now.

27. Actually I liked that you called people on their own sh*T
Edited on Sun Aug-15-04 01:47 AM by 28erl
Sometimes it aggravates me to see others acting like the other side instead of seeing all the good we have. So what if our team isn't perfect 10 - we have one hell of a candidate compared to the other side IMHO.

And when I hear the nit pik about some issues, I want to say, Ok go to the other side and see if you get any of your issues taken care of. If you can get at least one, this is the side to be on.

And I for one, see a lot of positives and when I don't, I remember Bush would not satisfy a single one and will destroy the world. And then I remember we have a great team. That Kerry is a level headed guy who looks at the 'big picture' and bases his decsions on that. I also like that he is willing to change his decision based on new and different information. I also like he is not willing to play into the hands of the terrorists (both in the current admin and in the world).

I expect big things out of this team. And I like your articles.

So calling people on their sh*t, is ok by me.

28. sorry for what?
the tension these days is tough and I find myself striking out at my family when I see a Bush ad or anything else that is negative toward Kerry these days. It's like I'm protecting my own family member.

I just told my spouse tonight that I will be so glad when this election is over, 'cause I'm ready to look at something such as a hurricane's devastation as just that--not a political move by the president. I hate myself when I question EVERYTHING he does, however, his track record speaks volumes--volumes of lies and distrust.

You are not alone and I hope you will forgive me or any of the rest of us during this crazy time.

No, I say get in line with all the rest of us...we're all in a bad mood...hopefully that will change November 2 with a regime change:)

33. Remember Monty Python knows all
Some things in life are bad,
They can really make you mad,
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle.
And this'll help things turn out for the best.
And....
Always look on the bright side of life, (whistle)
Always look on the bright side of life, (whistle)
If life seems jolly rotten,
There's something you've forgotten,
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps,
Don't be silly chumps.
Just purse your lips and whistle, that's the thing.
And...
Always look on the bright side of life. (whistle)
Come on...
Always look on the bright side of life...
For life is quite absurd,
And death's the final word,
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin,
Give the audience a grin,
Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow.
So always look on the bright side of death,
Just before you draw your terminal breath,
Life's a piece of shit,
When you look at it,
Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true.
You'll see it's all a show,
Keep 'em laughing as you go.
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.
And always look on the bright side of life,
Always look on the right side of life,
Come on guys, cheer up.
Always look on the bright side of life.
Worse things happen at sea, you know.
Always look on the bright side of life.
I mean - what have you got to lose?
You know, you come from nothing,
you're going back to nothing.
What have you lost? Nothing!

I have a grave concern; it doesn't prevent me from voting for, donating to, or supporting Kerry, but it makes me a lot less hopeful about the next 4 years. I'd like to ask you what you think about it...privately. I don't see any point in airing my concerns publicly at this point, since my only other viable choice would be *, and that's not going to happen in this lifetime.

48. I Can't Start a Thread Yet, but Here is a Talking Point for KE04
Kerry has alluded to this, but the talking point should be that you can't win a war with a divided country. It is why we lost Vietnam IMHO and why we won the Cold War, WW1, WW2, Gulf War I. Instead, Bush has waged class warfare, proposed a Constitutional amendment that limits the rights of certain folks/creates division... The idea is to paint Bush as someone who divides at the expense of the war on terror.

Another thing he should talk up is American dependence is a sign of weakness and Bush makes us more dependent on a) Mideast oil and b) "Red China" to finance our budget deficits.
