shrubya "shadowing" Kerry campaign stops: Are they going to
do this all the way until NOV 2?

I am assuming the reason that they do it is so that Kerry will never have "undiluted" news coverage of one of his HUGE rallies. If possible they will have shrub speak at the same time so that shrub will get TV coverage INSTEAD of JK.

Could JK have fun and make a bit of a game of this? How far in advance is his itinerary? If he is not "committed" somewhere could they "fake" and stop elsewhere?

It would be amusing for Kerry to make a few "follow the leader" allusions in his stump speeches too.

3. Bush really impacted coverage of Kerry here in the Northwest.
Northwest Cable News was whoring for Bush like nothing I have ever seen yesterday and other media outlets were affected, but not as much.

And of course Bush announced some major new federal funding for a dredging project while he was here and Kerry had no federal dollars to hand out.

They are pulling out ALL the stops and not even worrying for one second about being obvious.

5. Bush is doing what incumbents do
Throwing money around, which a challenger can't do.

14. Funny thing is...
...the RW has spent YEARS trying to convince people the media is "liberal" and untrustworthy. Their success on saying they are "liberal" is questionable, but they've had overwhelming victory in framing the media as "untrustworthy".

4. Wishful thinking
We here in Oregon were hoping * would follow John Kerry up the Columbia Gorge and try his hand at windsurfing too. Can you picture a drowned rat?

6. Yesterday at the Portland rally...
My congressional representative Earl Blumenauer made the "follow the Leader" comment referring to shrub's visit. Very Funny. Also shrub's visit absolutely made an impact on Kerry's local media coverage. In fact I think that Kerry put off speaking as long as he could to try to insure live coverage. It was not good.

9. It was "not good" that he delayed speaking to follow Bush? Because
it was massively inconvenient for everyone waiting to see/hear him? Please clarify...

10. When is the media going to point this out?
They act like it is a coincidence, or at least don't tell you whose rally was scheduled first.

20. My guess the "LIBERAL" media will never say it the way it is
They would never say anything that would criticize dubya! That would not be fair as one news anchor stated.
We should all right/email each media outlet that mentions the "near miss" or 'coincidence" campaign stops. The need to hear from the viewers that this is not a reporters roll in a democracy.

15. Jay Leno noticed it
He said, "Is it me or is Bush going everywhere Kerry goes? So far in the past week, President Bush has followed John Kerry to Davenport, Iowa; New Mexico; Los Vegas; Los Angeles; and he follows him to Portland, Oregon. The only place he never followed John Kerry was Vietnam."

16. Yep, Bush is playing "Follow the Leader"
Someone should make a picture of a U.S. map, with a blue solid line showing JK's route, and a red dotted line showing GB's follow-ons... with white stars on the spots where they both land.

Let's get it out there! It's a great meme!

17. Bush* is such
a prick. He reminds me of that little chickenhawk (how appropriate) that followed Foghorn Leghorn around. Full of bluster and thought himself much larger than he was. That is an image I would love to see out there.

21. I just think that is almost perfect!
I seem to remember him hanging onto Foghorn's leg and being drug along behind all the while blustering about getting that chicken. Too bad Foghorn is a chicken or it would be perfect.
