Well the answer is obvious, be nicer to Hillary supporters. If we think in our own lives if someones will is put on us we reject it. The best wa forward is to calmly lay out the options and allow them to decide for themselves. We can't afford to lose their vote, and overall we can't afford to lose them as allies, to defeat the biggest threat to human existence the GOP. Unity has to be first and foremost in our minds. Fair to have issues with the Hillary campaign, but important to keep the Hillary campaign and her supporters 2 different entities they are our allies in this struggle. Now is the time for the sweet talking.

4. I have criticized Hillary Clinton
I don't think, though, I have been nasty to her supporters.

At least on DU, Hillary supporters have been, at times, pretty nasty themselves. And they (some of them) incessantly whine about how Hillary has been "mistreated." And how this was all due to sexism and "misogyny." Bullshit.

Obama has won, and Hillary has lost. The "onus," if there is one, is on Clinton's followers. It's time to reconcile, and accept the fact that Barack is the nominee, and that nobody that seriously considers themselves to be Democrat wants to see McCain elected.

I'm sure that all sincere Hillary Clinton supporters will support Barack Obama in November. All these people that say they will vote for McCain over Obama are not Democrats. They are TROLLS!

True Democrats will not be happy if McCain is allowed to nominate the next four Supreme Court justices. Seriously. They won't!

5. I'm occasionally snarky to the ones that are rude
but in the case of a recent post by an Obama supporter that clearly was flamebait, I reported it without hesitation. I hope both sides will do a little better job monitoring their own.

6. Every time someone reaches out to a Hillary supporter, they are slapped down,
nastily slapped down.

If they can be persuaded by unknown people on an internet board to vote against their best interests, so be it.

This is their country, too, and if they decide to vote for McWar or not vote at all, they will get the government they deserve. Period.

we must accept their upset and try to get them on side.

to some crappy post and deleted it just to try to get along. Enough is enough. I'm finished. Live and let live...I'm too old for this shit.

Peace:thumbsup:

8. The nastiness of Obama supporters is throughout, from message boards to the
pulpit of his church.

If it was just anonymous posters on a message board it would be easy to ignore.

So if you base your vote on whether a candidate has nasty supporters, I guess you'll be staying home then?

14. don't confuse
vitriol for support. Even if someone did go through wasted effort of showing to you, you would choose to ignore it. I with my meager 200 posts have seen nastiness from both HRC/BHO supporters. It is foolish to claim otherwise. Most of our hands are dirty in that respect.

27. Care to show me even ONE Obama supporter as vile as this "Harriet" woman?
And you can't call her some sort of anomaly, because I've seen as bad or worse from the Hillbots on this board. It just sounds worse on TV.

I welcome Hillary supporters who are ready to accept reality. But I will not go out of my way to kiss up to the Harriets. We don't need them.

13. If you think Obama supporters are nasty lol
Try carrying this abortion of a Primary (not refering to either candidates Just the MSM) to the convention floor. There will be no unity. there will be no 2012. It will be scorched earth on all sides.THAT IS A FACT! The vitrol will reach a climax that would make Linda Lovelace blush. The only way that this will be even remotely civil is if a candidate suspends their campaign and concedes. Which candidate really doesnt matter. So long as there is no concession speech it will linger his/her supporters minds. This Primary was shat out by the RNC or Karl Rove. It was a brilliant. Put 2 history making candidates + a Republican Legislature (Florida)+ (MI)-Obama's Name on the ballot+ DNC+ RBC (additional Penalties)= 1/DNC<R Victory. We are the only party that can"snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory!"

I know quite a few, they didn't watch today's show nor do they
really pay attention to politics that much. They are still enamored
by Bill but would vote for Obama with no hesitation.

33. I think the Hillary Supporters
Need to do what I did.

My guy lost back in February.

So I read up on Barack - please note - I volunteered for Hillary in 2000 when I still lived in WNY. So I knew 'where she was coming from'. I didn't know much about this guy. But using reason and my ability to investigate his intentions - he's got my support in November.

When the Hillary supporter says, "I'll vote for McCain". I say - Oh really? Then you can't truly be a Democrat. As much as the Conservative Christian Ditto Head Wingnuts dislike McCain for being too 'liberal' - I see him for what he is. A Neo-Con in Vet's Clothing. Ain't buying it.

When they say, "I'll stay home." I say - then for every dollar I give Obama I will give an equal dollar to Ron Paul. WAIT. Not because I support him.

But if it will offset their staying home . . . I will still vote, give $, and campaign for the nominee (I'm assuming it's Obama at this point) - but to offset them - we may need a little 'spoiler'.
