Name one thing that Bush* did that Hillary wouldn't do.
Edited on Fri May-30-08 07:53 PM by LoZoccolo
I'm not saying that Hillary will act like a Republican or that there's no difference between her and McCain or any of that. She has her own plans and I'm sure they diverge from the Republican Party's plans and are thus better. I'm just saying, is there any particular thing that Bush* did that Hillary would be like "whoah, no way, I would never do that"? I think she would do any of it if it kept her in office for the second term. Again, she probably won't have to, and almost definately won't. But I'm not sure she would hesitate to do any of it if she felt she had to.

Privatizing Social Security is part of that. Of course in DLC fashion they pretty it up with language like "Dream savings account" or some bullshit like that.

I'm just saying, take any one thing that Bush* did, and ask if Hillary would be willing to do that one thing if it were politically expedient. I'm not sure I could find anything that she wouldn't do.

She won't have to replicate Bush*'s actions because Bush*'s actions are bringing down the Republican Party and thus are not politically expedient, so I don't expect her to.

Edited on Fri May-30-08 08:10 PM by chascarrillo
On edit: Considering Bill Clinton's moderate balancing act, he did do a great job of picking good Supreme Court nominees. The only "fault" (if you could call it that - I wouldn't, I'd call it "principled") is nominating older candidates who actually had a lifetime's worth of experience, unlike Bush I & II's young, inexperienced nominees, who will still be on the court for decades to come.

There are MANY things that nobody other than those in the Bush administration would do. Cancelling habeas corpus and torturing prisoners are two that come to mind, but denying health care to children might be right afterwards.

41. Personally, I think some of them have hated the Clintons since the 90s
A now tombstoned poster started a thread recently about being an "Obama republican" and there were far too many Obama supporters who responded by saying that they used to be republican, but that Bush had pushed them out of the party or Obama had drawn them in. It was quite enlightening, and helped explain the Clinton Chronicles references I have seen from some of the Obama "supporters" over the last couple of months. Clinton hatred is once again chic.

It makes me appreciate the sane Obama supporters, like Occam Bandage usually is.

She has never been here.
Even though her husband was in the White House for 8 years.
She didn't even come here and campaign this year.

She's running all over Montana chasing delegates this week, though.
Funny that.
If you thought that I think she's about the biggest fucking hypocrite in the entire Democratic party, then you would be right.

See, she said "red" states like Idaho "don't count.
She said that we wouldn't vote for a Democrat in the fall, so she just flew over us.
On her broom, no doubt.

Yet, her story about "ducking sniper fire" - well, not even Bush told a whopper like that one.

56. I'm an Obama supporter but this is a stupid question
Hillary wouldn't fire federal prosecutors because she wanted to get people in those jobs who'd violate the law to go after her political rivals.

She wouldn't have launched the Iraq war (I know she voted to authorize it but she most certainly wouldn't have done what Bush did).

She wouldn't openly attack unions and appoint right wing assholes to the NLRB or the Supreme Court.

She wouldn't have ignored Hurricane Katrina.

She wouldn't veto a stem cell bill.

She wouldn't have landed on that aircraft carrier.

She wouldn't have said "Bring 'em on."

The list goes on and on. Hillary isn't my choice but she's so far from Bush it's ridiculous to ask this question.
